Welcome to another edition of "Talkin' With The IKON." In this edition, I have an interview with Rage. Rage is an indy worker in the Kentucky and Indiana indy scenes. Recently I had the chance to conduct an online interview with him. Here is what he had to say. . .
IKON: What attracted you to wrestling?
RAGE: I always enjoyed it as a kid and coming from a martial arts background like Al Snow, Shamrock, Steve Blackman, they inspired me to pursue one of my dreams after my music career didn't take off.
IKON: Who were some of your favorites while you were simply a fan?
RAGE: Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Luger and Flair who paved the way to what wrestling is today, Rocky Johnson, Pat Patterson, Georgeous George, Tito Santana who paved the way in wrestling period, plus Al Snow, Mick Foley, Terry Funk, and Tracey Smothers
IKON:How long have you been in wrestling?
RAGE: two years
IKON: What territories have you enjoyed working in the most?
RAGE: Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana probably one of the best territories in the region besides Texas but i've yet to work there.
IKON: How did you break into pro wrestling?
RAGE: I was set to go to Les Thatcher's main event school when I found a promotion closer to home that trained. I talked to the promoter and he hooked me up and started training me.
IKON: What do you hope to accomplish in pro wrestling?
RAGE: Obviously what everyone starting out wants to and that's to eventually get to the big dance but all in all I want to be the best that I can be and accomplish all I can so others behind me can do the same.
IKON: Where do you see the wrestling business in 5 years?
RAGE: Hopefully it'll still be popular and the independents can gain a greater audience
IKON: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
RAGE: Hopefully in either the WWF or WCW.
IKON: Who do you feel will be the key players in wrestling's future?
RAGE: Definately Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Chuck Palumbo, Lance Storm
IKON: If you could work with any one wrestler in the world, who would it be?
RAGE: That's a very tough question but I think I would like to work with Mark Calloway, the Undertaker.
IKON: One final trivial question. If you were to start your own promotion and could pick any 10 wrestlers past or present, who would you pick?
RAGE: Wildcat Chris Harris, Al Snow, Tracey Smothers, Gillberg, Gary Albright, Chris Jericho, Paul Wight, Sting, Undertaker, and Rob Van Dam.
