Tornadoes. The ravages of Mother Nature demonstrate her devastating and deadly force, yet experts say most hazardous weather deaths are preventable. What can individuals and communities do to prepare when severe--and potentially life-threatening--weather hits? KET-TV presents Storm Preparation 2000, a live call-in program featuring some of Kentucky's leading experts on hazardous weather preparedness. Airing Monday, Jan. 31 at 10/9 p.m. CT, the one-hour program allows viewers to call in with their weather-related questions and concerns. Panelists will include Chris Allen, weather director for WBKO-TV in Bowling Green and board chairman for the Warren County Rescue Squad, Sabrina Bowling, a community disaster education leader with the American Red Cross, and warning coordination meteorologist Rick Shanklin of the National Weather Service's Paducah office. Footage from the Jan. 3 Owensboro tornado will be shown. Storm Preparation 2000, a production of KET in partnership with the Kentucky Severe Storms Preparedness Committee, is produced by Duncan Hart.
