The smallest and most dainty of the blowing breeds. It’s temperament being very attractive and it’s manner appealing. It’s characteristic, hop, skip, bustle and drive being a special feature. The fore part of the bird representing 2/3 of it’s length and the Rump and Tail 1/3. The back being in a straight line, the globe as round as a ball. All in proportion. BREED FEATURES: HEAD: Fine, rather long and slightly arched. EYES: Bull in Whites and Gansel marked. Orange to Yellow in other colours. CERES: Almost imperceptible. Light to dark but never Red. BEAK: Medium in length, fine and slender, flesh colour in Whites and Yellows. Horn colour in Black and intense colours. WATTLE: White and smooth. NECK: As long as possible. GLOBE: High set, cut out well from the body, showing back crop, as round as a ball, the widest part in the centre. BREAST: Bone straight and set well forward. BODY: Long and slim. BACK: Long and narrow between the shoulders, sloping and straight with the tail. WINGS: Long and well set, carried well up at the butts, held high on the rump. Primaries crossed. When in action the wing shields are carried 1cm to 2cm from the body. LEGS: Long and slender, not close at the juncture with the body. When viewed from the front perfectly straight. The side view showing the eye above the centre toe. Thighs moderately prominent running almost imperceptibly into the body. Hocks just slightly bent, not frog jointed. Toes medium to long, slender and unfeathered from the hock down. Toe nails as beak colour. The length of leg being slightly less than half of the total height of the Brunner. FEATHER: Clean, silky when in the hand. Lustrous in colour. Thighs well covered and smooth. COLOUR GROUPS: SELF: White, Red, Yellow, Black. BARS: Blue, Silver, Red (Mealy), Yellow (Cream), White Bars in Black, Blue, Red, Yellow and Isabel. TIGERS: Black, Red, Yellow. STANDARD PIED: Black, Red, Yellow, Blue, Silver, Red Bar (Mealy), and Yellow Bar (Cream). GANSEL: Black, Red, Yellow, Blue, Silver. COLOURS AND MARKINGS: The colour and sheen should be deep and lustrous with no fading in the back, thighs or under colour. In SILVER and ISABEL the delicate colour should not be so light as to obscure the clean outline of the bar. Tails and flights should be of the same colour as the rest of the Brunner. BLUES with Black bars should preferably be of a lighter shade. Head and neck with green sheen. BARS in Black, Red, yellow or White should be narrow and curved. BLUE WHITE BARS, should have a Black edge to the bar. ALL BARS should be free of bronzing. In dilute bars the ground colour is light but the neck feathers and bar are intense. TIGERS, the flights and tail of these should be the same colour as the ground colour. All other parts an equal number of White and Coloured feathers. STORK MARKING should have White ground colour, coloured tail, flights, breast and head cap. STANDARD PIED should have a coloured base, a White crescent which should not reach the eyes. White lower body and thighs, 7 to 10 White flights. A few White feathers in the centre of the wing shield known as The Rose. The tail in Reds and Yellows should be White, in hard colours the tail is coloured. GANSEL MARKED (Magpie), White head and bib to the centre in the globe. White wing shields and flights. Coloured tail and under after the vent. Coloured heart marking on the shoulders, White back. Markings must be clear in definition and of even colour. SEVERE FAULTS: Too big. Too small. Carriage too low. Too plump in body. Legs set too wide. “A” legged. Thighs too close. Too close at the hocks. “X” legged. Under size globe. Over blown globe. Globe not round. Too short in neck. Feathered feet or shanks. Flat head. Broad or hung flights. Flights not crossed over at the back. Tail fanned, wry or split. Too strong in leg. Hinged high. Beak dark in Whites, Yellows or Isabel. Red eye. Cere too light in Blacks or Blues. Feather rough in outline. ORDER OF EVALUATION: General Impression: Carriage. Globe. Frontal length. Leg setting. Length of leg. Colour and depth.
