The Kuyayky group is conformed by the Hurtado Bonilla family. Rubi at the guitar and first voice; Jose Luis, the only boy, at the mandoline and baritone; Yina, at the charango and alto voice; Mariluz at the wind pipes and high tenor; and Candy at the percusion and also first voice. The group is finally conformed with the birth of the youngest, since their parents, Jose Luis and Edda, at all times play an important role in instructing and encouraging the kids to sing. As very young children in Peru, they would always perform in the main theaters and churches at their natal city, Jauja and soon they had important performances in Lima, the capital city. Today, they have largely performed for the American public, taking their music and art to places such as churches, universities, schools, and cultural activities. Their wish is to promote and share their music and roots with the world.
