Henry was in the Civil war, Co D. 13 Regiment Ky. (Union) and died of typhoid fever on May 15 1862 just two days before his brother James.

There is question at this time about the state of birth for Andrew. Could be Ky or In.
Have found a document in a Pension file for Elzy C Rogers. This document date is 21 February 1888, it is signed by Andrew Parnell,so we know he was alive in 1888 he has not been found after this date. This document also said that he is 49 years of age. No other Andrew Parnell in Adair Co., KY this age at this time. In 1900 Andrews wife, Martha Kemp,is living with their son Emitt, so we know Andrew must have died before 1900.

The birth year for Martha came from the 1880 census which list her as being 42 born in Ky
In the 1900 census Martha is living with son Emmet (spelled as listed). The year of birth is listed as 1835 Born Ky father born Virginia mother born Ky.
Martha's death certificate lists her age as 85 years old, she died 4 Aug 1917 which would place her birth year as 1832.
Marriage Notes for ANDREW PARNELL and MARTHA KEMP:
This marriage information was taken from the report done by Margie Coffey. I talked to her a couple of months ago (1997)and she said she took the information from a report someone else did.
We have found a marriage record for Henry Parnell and Martha J Kemp in the vital records books Adair Co., KY they were married in the
presence of Jos ( I think this is John) Parnell and Robert Kemp. On 7 Nov 1860. I believe this is the marriage of Andrew and Martha because Henry the brother of Andrew was already married,to Amanda Rogers.
The son of Henry, also named Andrew also married a Martha Kemp but her middle name was Agnes and they were married a different year. Also, Martha J Kemp's father was Robert and Robert Kemp was a witness to this marriage.
People have been confusing Andrew J son of John and Candis with Andrew son of Henry for a long time, and there is a lot of information out that has many mistakes concerning Andrew s/o John and Candis.
I have done a lot of research on this and believe that I have sorted it out correctly.
Andrew s/o John and Candis, was not married before Martha J Kemp. He was still living at home in 1860 and was married a few months after the census was taken.
It is Andrew s/o Henry that is buried in the Parnell cemetery in Milltown.

On our research(Cathy & Sharon), to Adair Co. Ky. We found the marriage bond for John Thomas Parnell and Sarah E Redford. Unlike William Henry's bond this one states that his father was born in Indiana. They were married a the brides mother's on the wed. the 7th of Oct 1891. Sarah was 16 and John was 21. The bond is in book 14 page. 124 at the Adair co. records.
Also the marriage index has her name spelled Sarah E. Redford. it is in book 14 page 124.
