My ICQ friend
By Joe Rodgers

I just logged on to ICQ
waiting to get a message from you
You lift my spirits everyday
when your name appears and you say hey
I have to admit I begin to smile
Every time I hear incoming file
We talk about the things in our life
Our kids, sports, and yes even my wife
I am lucky to have a friend like you
you are so unique in all that you do
I thought you might like to know that I wait to hear the sound UH-OH

This is a poem that Shelby Scamahorn's aunt Debbie did.

This is a story about Michael C.
And of the proud person he came to be.
Who wants a cookie? my grandmother said
And all at once every one of us nodded our head.

We all loved those cookies so crunchy and sweet.
When she held out the jar, we jumped to our feet.
Except Michael C. who didn't take any
And told us all not to eat so many.

He warned us all that our teeth don't need candy.
Unless we have toothbrush and dental floss handy.

But we kept eating our cookies we just wouldn't listen.
And soon we all notice our glisten was missin.

We started to worry and brushed twice a day,
But those mean old cavities would not go away.
When we finally grew up, something had to be done.
Cause our teeth were all falling out one by one.

We went to a dentist and it just happened to be
Our old friend with the good teeth Dr. Michael C.
He fixed us all up, and gave us teeth that were fake
And said that's what you get for eating cookies and cake.

by Debbie Scamahorn

I got this poem from a friend and I thought I would share.

If you're having a bad day, I hope this is an encouragement.
If you're having a good day, remember people are watching and you are contagious.

A minister passing through his
church in the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar
and see who had come to pray.

Just then the back door opened,
a man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw the man
hadn't shaved in a while.

His shirt was kinda shabby and
his coat was worn and frayed.
The man knelt, he bowed his head,
then rose and walked away.

In the days that followed,
each noontime came this chap,
Each time he knelt just for a moment,
a lunch pail in his lap.

Well, the minister's suspicions grew,
with robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him,
"What are you doing here?"

The old man said, he worked down the road.
Lunch was half an hour.
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
for finding strength and power.

I stay only moments, see,
because the factory is so far away;
As I kneel here talking to the Lord,
this is kinda what I say:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM CHECKING IN."

The minister feeling foolish,
told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome to come
and pray just anytime.

Time to go, Jim smiled, said "Thanks."
He hurried to the door.
The minister knelt at the altar,
he'd never done it before.

His cold heart melted, warmed with love,
and met with Jesus there.
As the tears flowed, in his heart,
he repeated old Jim's prayer:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
I DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN."

Past noon one day, the minister noticed
that old Jim hadn't come.
As more days passed without Jim,
he began to worry some.

At the factory, he asked about him,
learning he was ill.
The hospital staff was worried,
but he'd given them a thrill.

The week that Jim was with them,
brought changes in the ward.
His smiles, a joy contagious.
Changed people, was his reward.

The head nurse couldn't understand
why Jim was so glad,
When no flowers, calls or cards came,
not a visitor he had.

The minister stayed by his bed,
he voiced the nurse's concern:
No friends came to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.

Looking surprised, old Jim spoke up
and with a winsome smile;
"The nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,
that in here all the while

Everyday at noon He's here,
a dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,
leans over and says to me:
"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP,
AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN.
ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,
I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY,
AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS CHECKING IN."

A Full Box of Kisses
The story goes that some time ago, a man punished
His 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold
Wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became
Infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to
Put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the
Little girl brought the gift to her father the next
Morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy." He was
Embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his
Anger flared again when he found the box was empty.
He yelled at her, "Don't you know that when you
Give someone a present, there's supposed to be
Something inside it?"

The little girl looked up at him with tears in her
Eyes and said, "Oh, Daddy, it is not empty. I blew
Kisses into the box. All for you, Daddy."
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his
Little girl and he begged for her forgiveness. It
Is told that the man kept that gold box by his bed
For years and whenever he was discouraged, he
Would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the
Love of the child who had put it there.
In a very real sense, each of us as humans has
Been given a gold container filled with
Unconditional love and kisses from our children,
Friends, family or God. There is no more precious
Possession anyone could hold.
NOW YOU HAVE 2 CHOICES:

1) Pass this on to your friends
2) Delete it and act like it didn't touch
Your heart
As you can see, I took choice number 1...
