I can't believe this thing is still here

Hi!  Chances are, if you've stumbled upon this page, you probably know me, or were trying to get to my now defunct Tori Amos webpage.  I took it down about 6 months ago, after almost a year of inactivity. I had planned on eventually using this page for my artwork, but I ended up creating a whole new page for that. As a matter of fact, I'd delete this right now, but since someone just discovered it, I guess I'll let it go a while longer.

About Me!  Education  Work  Marriage  Tattoos & Such  Music  Links

I was born in Paducah, Kentucky on June 20, 1975 and have lived in Kentucky most of my life.  At the age of 4, my parents moved to Eminence, Ky from Paducah.  I went to Eminence Independent School from Kindergarten -10th grade where, at the time, there was a total of 38 students in my class.  Eminence actually had only 500 students K - 12.  My mom remarried in 1991 and we moved to Bradfordsville, Ky.  I then attended Marion County High School, where I graduated in 1993.

After high school, I went to college at Campbellsville University, which is located in central Kentucky, all of 35 minutes from Bradfordsville.  I graduated from Campbellsville in 1997, one of 6 Valedictorians, Summa Cum Laude.  I have a B.A. in art, with an emphasis in art history - Impressionism and Modern art are my faves.  I'd always loved Degas and Monet, but discovered Rothko and Judy Chicago while in school.  I was fortunate enough to catch The Dinner Party at the Armand Hammer Museum in Los Angeles in 1996, and fell in love with Judy Chicago and the entire feminist art movement.

While in college, I met Paul Perkins.  Not face to face, mind you, but over the internet.  We had a mutual friend who was a friend of Paul's from high school.  He had ventured from La Crescenta, Ca, to Campbellsville, Ky to attend college.  He introduced Paul and I on a BBS (ECN in Culver City, Ca) on November 30, 1994.  Three and a half months later, Paul flew to Kentucky to meet me.  We started dating, traveling back and forth to see each other during the summer, Christmas vacation and Spring Break.  After graduation, I moved to Burbank, California, with the intent of studying art history at California State University, Northridge, and to be near Paul.  Paul was still in school, so I figured I'd continue my education out there.  However, after arriving in California, I decided that I'd rather study studio work at a later date. That never happend. Oops.

Paul and I moved back to Campbellsville, Kentucky in August of 1999.  Paul had proposed on Christmas day, 1998, and the two of us were married on September 4th, 1999. Paul works at M & M Programming, Inc., which is located in Lebanon, KY.  Paul is a service technician, working on computers, networks, phone support, etc.  I'm the office manager, working with the accounting.  I do contract labor for the company, but now run my own art gallery, These Precious Things.

My husband and I bought a housein 2000.  It's outside of Lebanon, on 16.38 acres. We added on to the house, with the addition containing a new master bedroom, a darkroom and an art studio.  We also acquired another 26 acres of wooded knobland which we don't plan on ever touching, unless we start a tree stewardship.

If you want the run-down, I am: 30 years old, 5'-5", I have short, dark red hair (umm... when it's not purple, blue, blond... ), blue eyes and a two tattoos, one that's kinda visible in that pic over yonder. It's a purple peace sign floating on the water (like a setting sun) with a dolphin jumping out of the water in the foreground. It doesn't look exactly like the background but it's close. Click here to see a better picture of it. I also have a tat of a pallete on my right shoulder blade. I got both of these at Tattoo Charlie's, the BEST place to get inked.

I'm a bit warped... very sick sense of humor. I love just about every kind of music. I have a huge music collection, which is being overrun with my Tori Amos collection.  My CD collection contains a little bit of everything, including Tori, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, Alison Krauss, Death Cab for Cutie, Staind, Pink Floyd, Kiss, the Cure, Alabama to the soundtrack from Jesus Christ Superstar. Oh yeah, and I love techno. I wouldn't call myself an ex-raver, but I did carry a pair of glow sticks while dancing on a few occassions.
