On Saturday, June 12, 1999 the Stephen Foster was run. In it were well known horses such as Victory Gallop, Littlebitlively, and Silver Charm. The winner of the race was Victory Gallop. It was his first win since last years Belmont Stakes. Second went to Nite Dreamer, third to Littlebitlively, fourth to Silver Charm, fifth to Precocity, sixth to Da Devil, and seventh and final was Connecting Terms.

Friday, the amazing mare Mossflower will be making her first start since June 20, 1998. To date she has six wins in six starts. She will be in an allowance race Friday in the sixth race at 7 furlongs for $52,000 at Belmont Park.

Well along with all of the good, some bad must happen too. Star stallion Mr. Prospector has died this year. (more info to come)

The winner of this years Haskell Invitational was Menifee. The horse that was just outside the spotlight Derby and Preakness day has now picked up the pieces behind Charismatic and moved into the spotlight. The Haskell was run on August 8, 1999. The $1 million dollar Gr1 event was heald at Monmouth Park. Second was Cat Tief followed by the ever improving Forestry.

Also, an hour before the Haskell top honors were awarded to Ecton Park in the Jim Dandy Stakes & a week earlier Victory Gallop topped a fine field of hroses to win the Whitney Handicap.
