Everage / Everidge Family

The Descendents of Abner Everage of North Carolina.

Abner Everage is listed in a few indexes as being in the Revolutionary War for North Carolina. Records have shown that his service and application was part of the Glasgow Land Fraud Case of NC and he may not have actually served. His bounty land warrant in TN was not actually carried into a land grant for service. According to "The Genealogy of William Cornett", by J.D. Cornett, Abner was the father of the children listed above. Sally Simpson, granddaughter of Mary Everage, gave the information. Although there is NO documentation like census or birth records to prove this relationship, I have found the J.D. Cornett book to be mostly accurate. In my 25 years of researching, I have found the name spelled Everage, Everidge, Evridge, Avridge, Average, and possibly Etheridge. I have found families in Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Ohio, and Alabama. I descend from the Eastern Kentucky clan in the area of Knott, Letcher, Perry and Floyd Counties, however, I research ALL states. Please feel free to email me your queries and family history concerning any Everage family. I have records for marriage, census, birth, death, and cemeteries and would be glad to help. Thanks, Jim Cornett If you would like to join an email discussion group on the Everage / Everidge Family, please email me at the board is free and very helpful
