When Patty Loveless recorded "My Heart Will Never Break This Way Again," for her new album, Strong Heart, she thought it would have been an amazing song for the "Trio." While her producer and husband, Emory Gordy, Jr has worked all three women, Patty didn't want to bother them. So, the couple put on their thinking caps and decided to craft their own trio. Enlisting Trisha Yearwood and bluegrass purist Claire Lynch, Emory and Patty found a sound that worked for them.

"There is something so magic about those three voices of Linda, Dolly and Emmylou's, and I wanted that," explains Patty. "We didn't set out to recreate and capture what the "Trio" did, but I wanted to have something that had the same feel. So I tried to figure out which voice would do what. While we don't sound like Linda, Dolly and Emmylou, I do think we have that same kind of vocal spark."

"I wanted to work with some people who're either old friends or new friends, but who love music the way Emory and I do," Loveless explained. "Music should be as much about celebrating your love of it as anythingŠand I believe everyone who worked on this record, from the engineers to the players to the string section felt the way we did about it."
