"I said what's going on in Nashville, and Roger said, "Hey, they're looking for new artists," which 10 years ago they were, just like today. Seems like they are every year, but, he said, "Why don't you come back and maybe do a demo of some of the songs that you wrote back when you were living here." And, I said ok, you think we can do this, and he said, "Yeah, sure." And I did a demo of 5 songs, I sort of did some things that sounded a little pop, I did some things that were very, very country. The two songs that got me signed to the first label, which was MCA, and Tony Brown signed me to a song that I wrote called "I Did", and also "Sounds Of Loneliness", and we ended up cutting them on the first album."

Patty's song 'Sounds Of Loneliness' was the first song that Porter Wagonner listened to, as Patty sang in his office for him. She wrote the song and dedicated it to her father. He would love to listen to his daughter sing it for him.
