Isaiah 14:12-14 - Satan's Declaration of War against God

He has no hope of victory against an Infinite God, so he changes his arena and attacks man

Gen 3:5 - "Ye shall be as gods" - The first Humanist Manifesto

Both righteous Abel and wicked Cain brought offerings to God

Cain brought the wrong offering, so there was still a realization he must worship

Man is incurably religious, so Satan devises alternate religion

(As in 1 Ki 12:26, Jeroboam realized man's going to Jerusalem to worship might bring him back to Rehoboam, so he made an alternate form of religion.)

Three characteristics of Satan's false religion:

POLYTHEISM - many "gods" but none really God.

FINITE DEITY- one who calls himself god, but is not truly infinite

MAN BECOMING GOD - a fulfillment of Genesis 3:5

Hinduism - many gods, none of whom is really God. A belief in reincarnation as a result of bad or good karma - up or down on the scale. The eventual aim - the Brahma image, or image of God (Gen 3:5)

Judaism - animal sacrifices were ordained by God, and each one pointed to the Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Israel did not receive Him (John 1:11). Christ prayed Father forgive them, and God continued to offer reconciliation to Israel. Even though Paul was Apostle to the Gentiles, he always went first to the synagogue. Judaism officially rejected Him three times, the third in Acts 28. Two years later, the Roman General Titus destroyed the Temple, which was the only place blood could be offered. It is the blood that makes atonement for the soul, so then Jewish rabbis got together and changed Jewish theology. It used to be the Blood, but now it became repentance, good works, keeping the Law. Judaism rejected Christ and made a religion based on their good works.

Roman Catholicism - any time a man takes it upon himself to aid in his own salvation, he has taken on a work that only God can do - Man becoming God, Genesis 3:5.

Madame Blasvatsky, founder of Theosophic Society and early New Age thinker said, ALL WORLD RELIGIONS HAVE A COMMON TRUTH THAT TRANSCENDS POTENTIAL DIFFERENCES

We would say All world religions have a common error that transcends potential differences,

All world religions have a common source - SATAN; a common theology - DO SOMETHING TO GET TO HEAVEN; a common humanistic concept - MAN BECOMING GOD; a common destiny - The Final Flock

The Vatican Council made it clear that other Christians, Jews, non-Christians and even atheists are united to the Church as the people of God in varying ways. For example, "those also can attain to everlasting salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ or his church, yet sincerely seek God and, moved by grace, strive by their deeds to do His will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience."

A desire for peace is universal; common prayer recognizes the validity of each prayer.

GOD'S JUDGMENT - Isaiah 14:3-14 - Political and Spiritual Babylon

Political Babylon judged in Daniel 5:25-28. God wrote UPHARSIN (plural); Daniel interpreted PERES (singular). Only one Babylon was to be destroyed that night; but another would be destroyed in the future.

God's Judgment of Spiritual Babylon in Rev 17:5. Mother of abominations. The worst abomination is a denial of the unique Saviourhood of Christ.

Evangelical Compromise with Spiritual Babylon - ECT, ECT2, Van Impe, Colson, Dobson

II Thes 2:8 - consume and destroy. You consume something by incorporating it into yourself, e.g., I consumed a ham sandwich. With each bite, the ham sandwich is getting smaller and smaller, and I am getting bigger and bigger. Destroy is a completely outward act.

God consumes as we evangelize. "With the Spirit of His Mouth" - the Word of God

No heartache, pain in Heaven. We'll feel great and look for someone to evangelize, but we won't find any. Now, when sometimes you don 't feel like it, is the only chance you will get.
