(Letter of Introduction) Director: Richard Hough III, Box 5858, Arlington, VA 22205 Would you like to do something about the continual changes in the Church's liturgy? Are you ready to combat liturgical abuses, insipid music, church renovations gone awry, a lack of reverence for the Eucharist , and bad translation of sacred Scripture? If Sunday-not to mention Daily - Mass has become a trial and distraction rather than a time of beautiful worship and recollection, you will be interested in our work on behalf of a genuine liturgical renewal-a renewal that promises to restore the beauty and splendor of the Church's rich liturgical tradition. Enormous pressure is put on the Vatican and the American bishops to continue changing the Mass, to implement so-called "inclusive language" and feminist ideology, to downplay the role of the priest, and to impoverish important elements of the Holy Sacrifice. Adoremus: Society for the Renewal of the Sacred Liturgy resists these trends and works on restoring the Catholic heritage in our parishes by rediscovering the holiness and power of liturgical life as envisioned by Vatican II and by the Liturgical Movement decades before the Council. Perhaps you have heard of our work to promote a genuine renewal of the sacred liturgy. If not, we hope this letter will acquaint you with, and convince you to join us in this unique effort. The role and influence of Adoremus is steadily increasing. In the last year and a half, Adoremus's membership has swelled to over 20,000 priests, religious and laity. Their support has allowed us to accomplish much. The Adoremus Bulletin Disseminating information is crucial to the success of our work. That's why we launched our monthly Adoremus Bulletin, which provides supporters with: timely news on the latest liturgical developments, including proposed changes for worship informative essays, both popular and scholarly, on the liturgy helpful reviews of liturgical resources, including music and art answers to important liturgical questions that affect you recommendations for what you can do in your parish to promote proper celebration of the liturgy updates on changes being proposed for the worship of the Church. |
