Gordon E. BRANHAM, Alfred Partee (Hoover) born in Dickenson Co., Va on Aug 11 1926 d: Apr 25 1998; s/o the late Nelson and Lula (Ramsey) Branham; he was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, four daughters, and one sister.  He was a disabled Coal Miner and a veteran of WWII; he served 2 yrs in the Navy from 1944-46; Sept 8 1947, he md: Josie SENTER; they lived in Dickenson Co on Ramsey Ridge; 2 girls:  Brenda Elaine (Norman) Owens, and Angela Rebecca (Larry) Smoak; and 2 sons: Carter and Jimmy Nelson d: Oct 12 1997 and Carter died at birth; 2 sisters: Lockie Cumbo and Flora Ratliff; 3 brothers: Wilburn "Bone",  Cowan and Tony Branham.

RIDDLE, Gladys was born Aug 29 1917 at Etty, Ky d: May 6 1998; d/o Willile and Pearl Lee Riddle; survived by two sons: Randall (Pam) Osborne of Jonancy, Ky; and Ira (Teresa) Branham of Pikeville, Ky; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Nicolas Dean Riddle and Walter Riddle; and one sister, Nona Lee Thacker; she is survived by 5 sisters:  Shirley Deskins of Daytona Beach, Fla; Bessie Lowe of Anderson, SC; Jacqueline Mullins of Harold, Ky; Nettie Gibson of Oceana, WVa; and Hazel Damron of Justiceville, Ky; and two brothers, Bill of Collins Hwy, Pikeville, Ky;  1st md: Alvin OSBORNE after his death she md: Ira BRANHAM, 1978.

BRANHAM,  Jimmy Nelson was born in Dickenson Co Va on May 16 1949 to Hoover and Josephine (Senter) Branham of Clincho, Va. ; he d: Oct 12 1997; md: Betty MULLINS, April 18 1975; two daughters: Amy Jo Branham of Nora, Va and Loretta Ann Branham at home, he, also, leaves his parents, two sisters: Brenda Elaine Owens of Vansant, Va; and Angel Rebecca Smoak of Valdosta, Ga.

CANTRELL, Terry C.  b: Feb 18 1933 in Pike Co., Ky d: Dec 7 1995 at Holston Valley Hospital, Kingsport, Tenn; s/o the late Ezra Cantrell and Dorsie Opal (Mullins) Cantrell; preceded him in death is his son, Kyle Edward d: Jul 9 1983; he leaves his wife, Carol Sue Cantrell of Jenkins, Ky; a son, Chris of Jenkins, Ky and a daughter, Toni Jo Salyer of Whitesburg, Ky.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #856, Jenkins, Ky; he served with the 82nd Airborne Screaming Eagles during the Korean Conflict.  Member of the Hylton Church of Old Regular Baptist.

Sterling, Ky.  He was baptized Dec 29 1996.

WARD, Bertha  was b: Oct 31 1919 d: Mar 8 1998; d/o Milton Blair and Sarah Margaret (Stacy) Ward; she was a lifelong resident of Buchanan Co., Va; md: Harvey CHURCH, Mar 23 1931 who d: Apr 2 1973; 6 children, Arlene Gay d: Mar 12 1944 at age 12 days; and her youngest son, Hollin d: after a heart attack on Mar 7 1987; she is survived by 3 daughters: Pauline (John) Hurley; Narcy (Buford) Stacy; and Janet (Clyde) Justus all of Grundy, Va; one son, Levil of Big Rock, Va; she is preceded in death also by 4 brothers: Sidney Ward, Cecil, Johnny and Grover Ward; also 5 sisters: Mattie Ward, Ersie Ward, Cora King, Mary Good and Victoria Mullins; two surviving sisters: Flora Church and Birdie Slone both of Grundy, Va.  Member of the Bee Branch Church of Old Regular Baptist on Slate Creek.  She was baptized on Aug 9 1970 by Elder Delbert Justus and Elder Julius Lester.

CLEVINGER, Earl "Dee"  was b: in Buchanan Co., Va on May 2 1908, d: Jun 15 1998, s/o the late E. C. "Bud" and Martha (Church) Clevinger; 1st md: Celestia POTTER, Dec 14 1929 she d: Mar 15 1968; 11 children; 2nd md: Molly KISER, 1974 no children.  He was preceded in death by one son, Homer Lee who died in infancy; two daughters: Emogene Keene and Leona Keene; one half-brother Lando Clevinger; 5 brohters: Keithel Bood, Fleetwood, Turl, Clarence, and Arnold Clevinger.  He leaves, his wife Mollie of Elkhorn City, Ky; 4 sons: Clark "Pete" of Mouth Card Ky; Robert Douglas and Charles Vernon both of Big Rock, Va; and Danny Earl of Haysi, Va; 4 girsl:  Magaline Stiltner and Virginia Cochran both of Grundy, Va; Martha Lee Wheeler of Tampa, Fla; and Erma Louise Ramey of Mouth Card, Ky; 3 brothers: Arlin and Tanzie Clevinger of Harmon, Va; Grover Jack of Abingdon, Va; one sister: Kelsie Vanover of Harmon, Va.  He joined the Bethleham Church of Old Regular Baptist at Popluar Creek on Aug 18 1951.

COLEMAN, Victor was b: Oct 28 1921 at Winwright, Ky d: Nov 1 1997 at his home at Justiceville, Ky; he was the youngest son of Ol and Ida (Adkins) Coleman; he was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers: Charles, Joe, James, Ted, Ernest, Geroge, and Frank; 2 sisters: Meyl and Elva Coleman; he leaves one sister: Edith Ratliff of Winwright, Ky; md: Carrie JUSTICE, Aug 14 1946; he is survived by his wife, one son, Victor Dale (Brenda) Coleman and 4 daughters: Nina Sue (Marlin) Newsome; Vivian (Bob) Childers; Pam (Harold) Gunter; and Marcia (Curtis) Wallace;  he was a WWII Army Veteran; he served as a Sergeant in the Signal Corps in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska; he retired from the Ky Power Co. in 1985.  Joined the Rebecca Church of Old Regular Baptist on Jul 4 1976 at the Greasy Creek and was baptized on Jul 10 1976 by Elder Orban May and Ted Coleman.  He was ordained Deacon on Oct 13 1976; he was also a borrowed deacon of the Ratliff Church of Old Regular Baptist.

DEEL,  Amos L.  was b: Mar 20 1925 he was the last living child of Beverly and Rosa Deel; d: at age 77 yrs, 9  months, and 10 days (Cancer); he md: Stella MAY Sep 30 1943 who d: Jan 15 1988; he leaves 4 children:  Betty Woods, Helen Deel, Arthur Deel, James Deel.  Joined the Mountain View Church of Old Regular Baptist and was baptized by Elder Toy Looney, and Elder Andy Deel on Dec 28 1997.

DEEL,  Charlie W. was b: Oct 18 1914 Buchanan, Va  d: Sep 25 1997, s/o the late Melvin and Nickeytie Deel; md: Ada TUSSEY, 1946;  he was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna May Deel; one son, Chucky Deel; one grandson, Gary Zane Edwards; 3 brothers: Ike Deel, Chris Deel, and Radford Deel; 2 sisters:  Ida Osborne, and Clema Hall; he leaves his wife, Ada; sons:  Curtis Deel, James Melvin Deel, and Gary Lewis Deel, all of Haysi, Va; David Deel and Larry Michael Deel of Dalton, Ga; daughters, Josephine Boyd of Prater and Sue Edwards of Florida; one brother:  Jesse Deel of Clinchco; two sisters: Della Conway of Haysi and Jane Deel of Clinchco.  He was a retired Coal Miner of American Local 7170.

BLANKENSHIP,  Clarcy Elaine was b: Sept 15 1927 d: Dec 7 1995; d/o the late Dolphus and Vicey Blankenship; md: the late Vester DEEL; she leaves a son, Larry (Thelma) Blankenship; 3 step daughters: Brenda Bevins, Ann Conaway and Betrice Steele; 2 stepsons: Charles, and Lindsey Deel; 2 sisters:  Clara Raines, and Vicey Blankenship; 3 brothers: Melvin Blankenship, David, and Charlie Blankenship; one sister deceaed, Annabell Deel; also two brothers: Joshua, and Monroe Quinn Blankenship.  Member of the Russell Prater Church of Old Regular Baptist and was baptized on May 15 1949.

DEEL,  Julius b: Jan 6 1917 in Buchanan Co., Va d: Dec 19 1997, the s/o the late Willie and Maggie Deel; he leaves his wife, Elaine; two daughters: Carol Deel and Peggy Lester; 3 sons: Darrel, Jerry and Larry.

MULLINS, Mary Jane was b: Mar 8 1913 at Elkhorn City, Ky; d: May 8 1998, d/o the late Vol and Hulda (Bartley) Mullins; 1st md: Clifford MULLINS; one son.  After Clifford's death she md Kasbie Maynard EDWARDS, May 30 1937; 4 childen.  She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Hill of Haysi, Va; 4 sons: Kermit Ray Mullins of Saginaw, Mich; William Mack Edwards of Casco, Mich; Hamilton Maynard Edwards of Clinchco, Va; and Roger Daryl Edwards of Clinton, Mich; she was preceded in death by: 7 brothers: Jess Mullins, Sigsby Mullins, Frank Mullins, Dewey Mullins, Hamilton Mullins, Ownsby Mullins, and Ausby Mullins.  Joined the Martian Chapel Church in 1992, where her son-in-law Finas Hill was pastor.

COCHRAN,  Roma was b: Apr 2 1914 d: Jul 7 1997; md: Richard EDWARDS, 1934; she was preceded in death by: her parents, Larking and Minnie Bell Cochran; 5 brothers, Claudie, Walker, Henry, Aven, and Vernon Cochran; two sisters: Erma Hill and Texas Baker; one son, Jackie Edwards who d: Christmas Day at 25 days old; she is survived by her husband, one sister, Gertrude Mullins; 4 daughters: Rita Becraft of Fredricksburg, Va; Shirley Stanley of Clintwood, Va; Sue Kelly, of Clintwood, Va; and Brenda Kay Barrett of Virginia Beach, Va; 3 sons, Harold, Cline, and Scott Edwards all of Haysi, Va.  Member of the Tivis Chapel Church of Old Regular Baptist where they both were ordained deacons.

BLANKENSHIP,  Celia b: Buchanan Co., Va where she lived for 85 yrs, at Hurley, Va; she d: Apr 17 1998 at her home; d/o Alfred and Siller Blankenship; she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Gurvis WEST; 2nd husband, George ENDICOTT; two sons, Ralph West, and Amos Endicott; and 4 sisters; she leaves, daughers, Lassie Ratliff, Yvonne Taylor, Gracie M. Stanley, Patricia A. Hall, Sandra K. Barker, Loma J. Ford; 2 sons, Virgil West, and William M. Endicott.  Member of the Church of Old Regular Baptist.  She was buried at Dan Blankenship Cemetery at Hurley, Va.

JOHNSON,  Elmira was b:  Mar 22 1927 at Dorton, Ky d: Mar 23 1998, d/o the late Johnny Martin Johnson and Sarah Francis (Elkins) Johnson; md: James Edward ESTEP on Aug 2 1943;  one son, Thurman of Hillsdale, Mich; two girls: Fannie Jordan of Jonesville, Mich; and Betty Swanders of Hermanda, Fla;  one daughter, Janie Marie, and two sons, James and Augustus - deceased.  She had 11 brothers and sisters.  Two sisters, Geneva and Ruby and one brother, Johnny, Jr survives; Albert, Geroge, Perry, William, and Orville deceased.  She spent most of her live in Litchfield, Mich until 1992 when she moved to Inverness, Fla.   Member of the Church of Old Regular Baptist.

FOSTER,  Jesse W.,  was b: Jul 5 1923 in Buchanan Co., Va, s/o Charlie and Lydia Foster; d: Jul 21 1998; md: Minnie KELLY Horton; he leaves is wife, Minnie; his daugther, Lydia Prater of Grundy, Va; one son, Jesse Foster of Grundy, Va; two stepsons, Thomas Horton and Leo Horton, both of Tupelo Mississippi; two sisters and one brother, Yvonne Osborne, Annette Duty and Kenneth Foster all of Grundy, Va.  Member of the Shriners of the Hamasa Temple in Meridian, Mississippi.

COLEMAN,  Fronia was b: 1897 in Pike Co., Ky to Leonard and Mary Coleman, she came to Haysi, Va in 1916; she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud FULLER; a brother and two sisters.   Three sons, Kemper Fuller and Junior Bud Fuller, and Jim Fuller.  She leaves 5 sons, Buster, George, Raymond, Fred, and Roy Fuller; two daughters, Hazel Thomas and Annie Busler.  Member of the Church of Old Regular Baptist.

RAINES,  Sophia was b: Jun 16 1903 d: Sep 12 1998, d/o Elder Z. T.  and Rosina Raines; md: Beverly FULLER, Jun 16 1920, they lived all their married life at Haysi, Va; 6 boys 3 girls; she is survived by Nora C. Anglin of Ferndale, Mich; Vivian Owens of Haysi, Va; William Jennings Fuller of Hazel Park, Va; Beverly Clinton Fuller of Winston Salem, NC; Emory Garland Fuller of Sterling, Va; and Douglas M. Fuller of Charlotte, NC; she was preceded in death by her husband, Beverly Fuller d: Dec 16 1977 and two sons, Neal Woodrow Fuller, and Franklin Fuller; and one daughter, Rozella Smith.

GOODPASTER, Gilbert H.  was b: Jan 1 1931 in Aurora, Indiana, d: May 7 1998; s/o Jesse James Goodpaster and Sadie Myron; md: Norma COMBS, Jan 1954; 4 children: Gary, Pamela, and Randy Goodpaster all of Milan, Indiana; and Barbara Gordon, deceased (Barbara her husband and baby were all killed in a car wreck in 1972).

HALL, James Noble was b: Oct 30 1979 d: Sep 8 1997, he is survived by his stepfather, Willie Combs; his mother, Loretta Combs; and 4 sisters and one brother:  Trishia Rose Roberts, Rhonda Michelle Combs, Sashia Nicole Combs, Lora Renia Combs, and Willie Edward Combs; a grandmother, Oma Trivette.

HALL,  Lydia was b: Dec 13 1910 d: Mar 20 1995 at her home on Red Creek, Pikeville, Ky; d/o the late David and Nancy (Tucker) Hall; she was preceded in death by her husband, William ANDERSON and her 2nd husband, Woodrow HAMILTON; 3 brothers, John, Richard, and James Hall all of Red Creek, Pikeville, Ky; and 5 sisters:  Mollie Adkins of Mich; Liza Thacker of Pikeville, Ky; Ida Tackett of Red Creek, Ky; Sarah Coleman of Lower Pompey, and May Z. Thacker of Red Creek, Ky.  She is survived by one dauther, Letha Coleman of Wolfpit, Elkhorn City, Ky; one son, Ray (Liz) Hamilton of Red Creek.

ROBERTS, Rosa was b: Apr 10 1915 d: Jan 23 1998 d/o Daniel and Katie (Lambert) Roberts; md: Johnny Jones 1936; 3 children:  John Hayse Jones, deceased; James A.  of Virgie, Ky; and Inis Mae Hamilton of Harold, Ky; 2nd md: Jay HALL, 1947; 2 children:  Alma Younce and Lexie Little, both of Robinson Creek, Ky; 7 stepchildren:  Whellis Hall, Claude Hall, and Beatrice Damron of Robinson Creek, Ky; Madge Johnson of Ligon, Ky; and Elster Hall of Yeager, Ky; two preceded her in death:  Clifford and Jay Lee Hall; also deceased:  two sisters, Lilly Damron and Cindy Roberts; and three brothers:  Neil Roberts, Willie and Alfred Roberts.  Member of the Pilgrim Hope Church of Old Regular Baptist on Long Fork of Virgie, Ky.

HARRISON, Earl was b: Jul 6 1924 d: Jan 25 1998; s/o the late Grayson and Georgia (Coleman) Harrison; survived by his wife Nell (Ramey) Harrison; two sons, Ronnie of Woodhaven, Mich; and Larry of Mouthcard, Ky; 5 daughters: Joyce Ward, Gleauth Hurley, Olean Owens, Sandy Hunt and Connie Sawyers all of Mouthcard, Ky; He and Nell were md: May 6 1944.

HOLBROOK, Remus Eugene was b: Mar 14 1924 d: Jun 25 1998 at the Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Mich, s/o the late Sylvan and Vestie Holbrook in Punchion, Ky;  md:  the late Maggie FRANLIN, at her home in Millstone, Ky; 3 children, Loraine Cox of Romulus, Mich; Jimmie Holbrook of Dearborn, Mich; and Patricia Martin of Lincoln Park, Mich.; also survived by two sisters: Josephine Shehee of Toledo, Ohio; and Geneva Moran of Fort Pierce, Fla; his sister, Emma, deceased; he moved to Detroit, Mich in 1953 when they bought a house in Lincoln Park.  Member of the Little Ida  Church of Old Regular Baptist of Ecorse, Mich and was baptized Jan 24 1996.

CALHOUN,  Elizabeth Alice was b: Jan 28 1903 Knott Co., Ky and d: Feb 25 1998 at the Dearborn County Hospital;  d/o John C. and Amanda (Bates) Calhoun; md: Baxter Honeycutt, Sr. on Feb 2 1924; she was preceded in death by her husband, two infant sons, her parents, 6 brothers, 5 sisters, one granddaughter, and one great grandson.
She is survived by 4 sons: Baxter, Jr of Osgood; Buford of Milan, Indiana; Paul of Sunman; and Melvin of Milan; 5 girls:  Cynthia Watts of Milan, Ruby Kincer of Milan; Inez Steinmetz of Sunman; Betty Shields of Indianapolis; Shelby Honeycutt of Milan.
