Use Microsoft Word to Build a Newspaper

From Crayons to Computers

First you will need to go to START on your computer and open the Microsoft Word Program.

1.  Set up a table for the masthead and article title.  Type the masthead and title on different rows.  If you want some space between the two, throw in an extra row.  If you have "CopperPlate" as a font style, this will look very "newspaperish" for the newspaper name.

2.  Move the cursor so it is outside and below the table.

3.  Set up the format to 3 columns.  As you type, the text will appear to be in one very long column, but it will separate into the 3 columns when it prints out.  You could also use 2 columns, but 3 columns gives the text that skinny columns look.
