Cool and sedate, the Hussain Sagar may be an artificial lake, but it is a natural pacifier to the natives of the city of pearls. A natural meeting point for the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, it is embraced partly by a skyline of modern edifices, the Lumbini Park, necklace road and the rest by the tank bund, a motorable bridge. A 45 ft giant monolithic statue of Buddha, the "Prince of Peace" (the tallest in Asia) stands - with a blessing hand - as a mute spectator to the fast paced materialistic city life and its changing contours. Boating in the lake is pleasant and fun as the magnificent Buddha spells magic to the awe-struck visitors!!
