Monica Einarson

Monica was born in Sweden. She studied voice and music theory at tha Framnäs Folkehøjskole from 1979-81, and also studied voice, theory, piano and music direction at the Göteborg Music Academy from 1982-87. From there she went on to study in Cincinatti, America. From 1987-1990 employed to the chorus at the Opera in Göteborg where she also sung minor roles in operas, operettas and musicals, and where she made her starring debut in 1990 as Eliza in "My Fair Lady". From 1990 and the next four years was she was part of the ensemble of the Stockholm production of "The Phantom of the Opera", where she also sung the role of Christine for 40 performances. She has sung the roles of Elsa von Schröder and Mother Superior in The Sound of Music" at Göta Lejon in Stockholm. In 1999 she played the role of Anna in "The King and I" at Slagthuset to Malmö.
