Edward Lee Endicott's Obituary

Contributed by Bill Endicott, Edward's son

Edward Lee Endicott,
Born Sept. 20, 1933 in Idabel, Oklahoma. Ed succumbed to a long battle with cancer on the morning of June 14, 2006. He was a resident of Greenwood, Ca. for the past 20 years where he lived a quiet life on his 40-acre ranch. He was an inspiration to all who knew him especially his family who must now learn to live without him. A dedicated employee of UPS for over 35 years he was one of the first drivers to deliver to the Georgetown Divide area and the far reaches of Sierra, Placer and El Dorado Counties. He knew every back road, dirt road and sometimes wasn’t sure if it was a road as he drove his brown truck in search of a list of addresses. To this day he could visit the small towns on his route and so many folk’s remembered “Eddie the UPS driver”.

A true and proud patriot, he served his country from 1951 to 1954 in the U.S. army as a Military Policeman with duty in Japan and Germany. In his final days of military service at Fort Ord, CA. He met the love of his life, Karlene. From that day they would share their lives for the next 51 years.

He is survived by his wife Karlene of Greenwood, daughter Gail Wrinkle and husband Pat Wrinkle of Georgetown, son Thomas Endicott and wife Lynn of Greenwood, daughter Vicki Daniel and husband Arlan of Auburn, son Bill Endicott of Greenwood, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Also survived by his 4 sisters Christine, Jeanette, Dorothy and Essie from the Sacramento area.

Services will be held Friday June 23, 2006 at the Pioneer Cemetery at 2:00 p.m in Georgetown on Hwy. 193. All welcome to celebrate the Meaning of Life Reception with the family immediately following the services at the V.F.W. Hall on Main St. in Georgetown.
