DO YOU NOT REMEMBER?
Please do not be afraid! Do you not remember that it is I?
Take a moment to reflect on the dawn of time,when I crept upon your fire to befriend you.
I curled beside you or on you to keep you warm when your fire would fade away.
Even as hope for my species fades today.
It is I who would stand by your side, as my decendents do today, To protect you from danger and harm.
It is I who would comfort you and caress you with my tounge to let you know that I was there, if you felt lost or alone.
It is I who would lay down my life for yours, if it were threatened.
It is I who could make your child laugh,and be a companion, if he were lonely.
It is I who taught you I could benefit you by showing you how useful I could be to help feed your starving families.
It is I who have even given my life to feed you, if no other game were to be found, given the cold hard truth.
It is I who now only wish to be understood, let me continue with life, and to be heard through the music I sing for you.
It is I that you have betrayed and seek to destroy, and have taken for granted the love and admiration I have held for you.
It is I, the wolf,
