The Backstreet Boys have reportedly left the label that boasts huge pop acts like Britney Spears and 'N Sync.
Reports by MTV news and Billboard online say attorneys for the band have sent a letter to Jive records that states the label is in breach of contract and the band is no longer with Jive.
The recent label dispute follows 'N Sync's label switch from RCA to Jive.
Previous reports said the Backstreet Boys were upset that 'N Sync would be on the same label. The multi-platinum pop band allegedly left their management company last year because their managers were representing 'N Sync at the same time.
A report by MTV news, however, says a spokeswoman for the band stated the Backstreet Boys don't have a problem with 'N Sync.
Although Jive and the Backstreet Boys' management company declined to comment on the label switch, there are rumours that the band members feel exploited by Jive.
In an earlier interview with MTV, band member Howie, said the band is looking for respect from the record company.
The Backstreet Boys also told MTV that legal issues won't affect their current tour and are tentatively planning another North American tourm for May and June of next year.
9/17/99:
*WOOHOO! The BSB won Viewer's Choice at the 1999 MTV VMA's. They were also nominated for 3 other awards (Best Group Video, Best Pop Video, and Video of the Year) but unfortunately they didn't win those.
*Because of Hurricane Floyd the 2 Florida shows that were supposed to take place were rescheduled to December 5th and 6th.

TWO EX-CITED BACKSTREET BOYS Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...by a Backstreet Boy. Two ex-girlfriends of the crooners are getting back by writing tell-alls: In November, St. Martin's is publishing What You Wanna Know: Backstreet Boys Secrets Only a Girlfriend Can Tell by Brian Littrell's high school sweetheart Samantha Stonebraker. Not to be outdone, Simon & Schuster is crashing A.J. McLean's former paramour Marisa Jackson's Loving A.J.: My Six-Year Romance With a Backstreet Boy into print next month. "I got to see everything," confides Stonebraker. "But of course, for this particular book I'm making it PG." We just hope the catfighting tomes are a bit juicier than last year's The Heart and Soul of Nick Carter: Secrets Only a Mother Knows.

Backstreet Boys' Brian Littrell Pens Song For Don Philip
Aug 5, 1999, 11:30 am PT
The Backstreet Boys are slowly but surely working on their songwriting skills. Brian Littrell, who co-wrote three tracks from the Boys' chart-topping Millennium album, has co-written another tune for Jive Record's next groomed-for-stardom boy balladeer, Don Philip.
Littrell co-wrote the song, entitled "How Did I Ever," with producer/songwriter Eric Foster White, who is producing Phillip's as-yet-untitled Jive debut. It was undecided at press time whether or not the song will make the final cut of Philip's album, set for an early 2000 release.
The 23-year-old Philip first appeared on Britney Spears' album Baby One More Time where he tag-teamed with the teen sensation on the track, "I Will Still Love You."
Don Philip Philip's first single will be a song entitled "Sugar" from the upcoming Jive soundtrack to You Drive Me Crazy, set to hit radio in early September. The soundtrack also includes new tracks from Britney Spears,"(You Drive Me) Crazy", and a new tune from Jars of Clay.
The soundtrack for You Drive Me Crazy is set for a Sept. 28 release, while the film, starring Melissa Joan Hart, will hit theaters Oct. 1
Meanwhile, the Backstreet Boys will hit the road for a North American tour on Sept. 15.

I will post the confirmed tour dates as soon as a get them. Also, I will be gone until the 29th because I'm going to South Carolina, so there won't be any updates during that time.

So keep checking the site this week for more info about that. Also, if you're wondering why I already had US tour dates on my website, those were unconfirmed dates. 6/19/99- For those of you who watched the Blockbuster Awards, you were probably as annoyed as I was that they didn't even mention the BSB! They weren't there for the taping but they still won two awards; Best CD (Backstreet Boys) and Best Pop Group.
-There is a new issue of the J14 magazine out, and it is an all BSB special. I suggest you get it! There are tons of great pics, and for those of you who are dying of curiosity about Leighanne, there's a little bit about her in there too.
