HERE I GO AGAIN
Here I
head out
another Saturday night
to the local dance hall
but
the only place I wanna be
is with her.
In her bed
watching a movie
eating popcorn
or reading a book
together.
I am to
meet
a cute young thing.
Decent dancer
good kisser
a nice time gal
but
the gal I wanna be with
is probably
switching off her reading lamp
wistful thoughts of us
in her head.
We'll
be dancin'
and shootin' pool
and drinkin' beers
and carrying on
but
my mind will drift
to thoughts of holding her
all night long
oblivious to the world
lost.
So here
I am
once again
going places
I don't wanna go
doin' things
I don't wanna do
with people
I don't wanna be with.
