Hi ho fellow gamers, Mr. Gimpy here once again .... Todays rant - people whining about being the team sniper. Don't know about the rest of you, but that one thing annoys me above all else in DoD. Go right ahead, ask. But please, don't be rude enough to constantly whine if/when the person says no. Even in DoD, no means no. Live with it. Sure, the person who has that coveted spot may suck, and you may be better asleep than he ever will be, but face it ... He got it 1st, and whining about it for the next 20 minutes isn't going to change anyting (except maybe the blood pressure of the people haveing to read your whining crap). Case in point. I was playing DoD Mountain Monday afternoon (not as a sniper right away either) and having a blast. Allies had a decent sniper, while the Axis sniper definately needed more practice (which he was getting). Then joins a member of a certain clan that always wants to snipe.. Upon seeing him join the Axis side, I made a mental "bet" with myself as to how long it would take for him to ask to be the team sniper (he's pretty good at it after all). I lost ... he held out about 10 minutes (I thought maybe 5 at most ... I was surprised). Unfortunately, the Axis sniper said no. That should have been the end of it ... but it wasn't. What followed was some of the worse behavior I've ever had the mispleasure of seeing in any game, let alone DoD. The Clan member started out just whining about being the sniper. 20 Minutes worth of his sniviling was bad enough, but when that failed to get him what he wanted, he started in on the personal attacks and threats. He even went so far as to try and initiate a kick vote on the current Axis Sniper in a fite of pure spite. That has to have been the ultimate in Lameness. I don't know about the rest of you, but I judge an entire clan on how it's members behave in game. The Clan this lamer represents was up there pretty high until this incident. Now, I have to put em at the bottom of my list. Don't get me wrong, this was the action of only 1 of them, but that one whiney voice was loud and clear, and if this Clan lets that kind of person into their ranks, it does not speak well of the rest of em. Sorry guys. Btw folks, feel free to flame the hell out of me using the forum. All I ask is that you be brave enough to use your regular game name, and to think out what you want to say instead of just ranting for no reason. Mr. Gimpy Post Script note: You notice that I didn't name any particular clan or clan member. There are reasons for that, which I won't get into right now. Lets just leave it at this: I know who he is, the people in the game know who he is, and most importantly, his clan leader knows who he is. Remember folks, being in a clan is a 2 way street. Yes, it gives you friends to play games with, learn from, and generally have a good time with. BUT, it also means that when you start acting like an ass in public, you not only put a bad name on yourself, but on the rest of your clan. Think about it...
