Ok, so it's been awhile since I put in an update. Ruth has been a joy to have around. In the last year she has started (and stalled) potty training. She went camping in June at Milford Lake. She had fun with her cousins Jacob and Austin. In October she went camping in Fall River. More fun was had with the cousins.

Ruth's second birthday was a success. She had a great time at her birthday parties both in KC and in Wichita. Christmas was exciting also. She got to meet cousins on Grandpa Marvin's side of the family that she hadn't met before. She enjoyed playing with Great-Grandma Mereata. She also enjoyed Christmas Eve with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Mike. New Year's was tons of fun at Aunt Mary and Uncle Dan's house. Playing with Jacob and Austin was exciting.

Ruth enjoyed a weekend at Grandma Sue and Grandpa Mike's house while Mom went to KMEA. On the Friday she got to play with Aunt Mary, Uncle Dan, Jacob and LaVonne. Jacob and Ruth were both upset to have to leave. This past weekend Ruth went camping at Dripping Springs Lake in Oklahoma along with her cousins. Austin has gotten so big! Ruth had a great time playing with Austin and Jacob. Some of her best friends from chuch (Grace and Emma) called Friday evening to say that their new baby brother, David, had been born. Ruth will go visit him Wednesday. She picked out some fun toys for David and is excited to meet him.

The big news of the year is that sometime near July 1 Ruth will have a new baby brother! She seems to be excited about being a Big Sister. She even insists that she will share her room with the baby. We'll see how long that lasts! Mom and Dad are making arrangements in case she changes her mind. Watch here for a link to Baby Brother's site later this summer.

I am SO sorry that's it's been almost 6 months since the last update. Ruth has been very busy since December. She enjoyed the Breakfast with Santa at our church. She wasn't afraid of Santa, but she wasn't too interested either.

We tried to get a picture of Ruth with two of her biggest fans, Alex and Sammy, but you know how that goes!

We had a good amount of snow, and she enjoyed playing in it. She especially enjoyed when Dad took her sledding!

She also enjoyed Christmas with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Mike in Wichita, and a week with Grandpa Marvin, Aunt Nancy, Aunt Dawn and Uncle Adam in Tulsa. She enjoyed New Year's with Aunt Mary, Uncle Dan, Aunt Tricia, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Mark, Aunt Heather, Uncle Jeremy, and Jacob. Jacob and Ruth enjoyed playing with the toys Aunt Dawn and Uncle Adam had for cousin Austin.

Unfortunately, Austin did not see fit to join us for another week, so back we went to Tulsa to meet Austin.

We made another trip to Tulsa about a month later to have Dawn do our taxes. Ruth had a LOT more fun with Austin this time!

At the first of March, we all travelled to Lisa's Grandmother's farm to celebrate her birthday. She and Ruth had a grand time playing together. We also managed to get a family shot and a picture with Grandpa.

Things calmed down for the next little while. So Ruth decided to find some fun of her own. She learned how to squirt herself with Mommy's water bottle.

Then Easter rolled around. Ruth enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt at church with Dad (Mom had to work).

She enjoyed finding her Easter basket.

She looked absolutely ADORABLE in her haute couture dress made by her personal seamstress. (Thanks Aunt Mary!)

We even managed to get a family picture in front of the cross at church.

She also enjoyed an Easter party with her friends from church.

She also enjoyed an Easter egg hunt at home with just Mom and Dad.

Ruth has discovered the fun or playing outside in the water.

We'll have more pictures soon! I promise!

A couple weeks ago we had a friend who is a photographer take Ruth's one year pictures. She gave us a CD with the proofs on it. Ruth is giving pictures to family members for Christmas, but it was just too hard to pick which ones to print for everybody. So, Please take a look at these, and then E-mail me with the letter of the photo you'd like from Ruth, and also with any other pictures you'd like prints of and the size you'd like them. (Layne is only charging what she's charged for the prints, so they'll be pretty cheap!)

Here we go!

So sorry it's been forever since I updated! Here are some pictures of Ruth since the last update. I will try to get pictures from this weekend up soon. (Emphasize TRY!)

To start are some pictures of Ruth eating her favorite meal, spaghetti.

Here's one of Ruth having fun in the fort she "built" for herself. (Her Dad helped some!)

For Halloween, Ruth was Eeyore. We went to the church party, and Ruth had a GREAT time!

Next up was her birthday party with all the kids from church. She wasn't real sure about the candle thing, but she LOVED the cupcake!

The kids were a BIG help unwrapping presents.

Then came Thanksgiving at Grandma Sue and Grandpa Mike's. (She loves pumpkin pie!)

I just have to point out, that the last one is so incredibly cute! Mom and Dad went out for date night while Ruth hung out with Aunt Katie, her boyfriend, Grandma and Grandpa. They brought out Aunt Katie's rocking chair from days gone by, and Ruth loves it!

Ok, Here are a bunch of pictures from vacation. I'll try to explain as we go.

Day 1 We left Larned after Ruth played with Grandpa Marvin and the kitties, and went on to Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site for lunch.

That night we camped at a state park just outside of the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The next morning we went to see the dunes.

After that adventure, we crossed the Great Divide and went on to Mesa Verde. The next morning, Ruth and Jacob were both in fine moods. That day we saw Mesa Verde National Park, Arches National Park, and Capital Reef National Park.

That evening, we ended up in a beautiful campground in the Dixie National Forrest, but I'm not telling the name because it is our family's new favorite campground! The next morning Aunt Dawn checked out the view and enjoyed the sunrise with Ruth. Later that morning, Aunt Tricia and Ruth checked out the view at Bryce Canyon. We also saw Zion National Park, Escalantes Grand Staircase, Las Vegas at night, and made an aborted attempt to see the Hoover Damm. We stayed in Barstow, California, that night, and it was almost 100 degrees when we arrived AFTER MIDNIGHT!

The following day we arrived in Ojai, CA. We took in a wonderful band concert in the park that evening. The next day, we did a little shopping and went to the beach. Ruth is not a fan of sand, so she played with Aunt Leah. For the beach, Aunt Mary made Ruth and Jacob matching outfits.

The next day, Friday Aug. 5, we took in the Reagan Library, took a drive to Los Padres National Forrest, and watched Ruth and Jacob have fun. On Saturday, we left Ruth to enjoy time with Aunt Leah and Uncle Joe, while the rest of us toured the Tar Pits, Hollywood Boulevard, and Graumann's Chinese Theater.

But all good things must come to an end, and we left California on Sunday to head to Arizona. Sunday evening we stayed in Kingman, Az. On Monday it was on to the Grand Canyon.

We spent two nights at the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend the bus system they now have there. It made the day much more enjoyable because we didn't have to load and unload the babies into their packs at each stop. We just took Ruth off our backs and let her enjoy!

We left the wonders of the Grand Canyon behind, and headed to McGaffey National Forrest just outside Gallup, NM. On the way we saw the Petrified Forrest and LOTS of rain.

From Gallup, we went to Red River, NM. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay the night there because of bears. Did you know that bears are attracted to the scent of baby wipes?! Neither did we. We decided to head to a more civilized, and bear free, area in Raton, NM. From there we made it back to Larned, and after dinner travelled on to Manhattan, KS, for our yearly Hunter Family Reunion.

It was a long drive, and the rain was exhausting, but it was a great trip! To see more of our vacation pictures, check out Lee's website. He'll have a vacation link up as soon as the pictures are ready.

We just returned from our vacation to California. We'll have more pictures soon, but here's one with Grandpa.

7-27-2005

A lot has gone on in little Ruth's life since the last posting. She's gone camping at the Great Salt Plains down in Oklahoma.

Where she ended up taking a bath in our cooler!

And Dad and Uncle Mark pulled a switcheroo.

Ruth has been on the go more and more. The cats are starting to figure out how to avoid her, but not always!

She has been to Grandma and Grandpa West's house to swim and play some more, and it was a good time!

She has also been to visit Cousin Jacob again.

Mom went through all our pictures again and found some more that are too cute not to show.

And most important of all, we think Ruth just might like her Daddy.

6-23-2005

Here are some pictures from Ruth's first swimming lesson and her first Father's Day.

And here are some in dresses that Aunt Sharon sent to us.

And here we are with Aunt Heather.

With Aunt Tricia and Uncle Mark.

And Uncle Jim again.

6-16-2005

Lisa finally organized all the pictures we have of Ruth. So I'm posting some older ones, but not widely known.

Here is Ruth meeting her cousin Jake for the first time. Uncles Dan & Mark are holding said children.

Here is Ruth with Aunt Nancy visiting the Extreme Makeover Home Edition building site when they did their show in Kansas City.

Here's Ruth playing with Uncle Jim

Over Memorial Day we visited Great Grandma Mereata at her farm, Grandma Ruth and Great Grandpa Baldwin.

5-23-2005, Monday:

Ruth is now officially 6 months old, and is up to 19.5 lbs. Here some pictures from bath time.

5-1-2005, Sunday:

It's been a awhile since I've updated. I've got a little bit of every thing. First off, Ruth has her first solid meal of rice ceral. She moved around so much I only got one good picture of her.

Also I was trying to finish a book I was reading with Ruth sitting on my lap. She must be taking lessons from Mom & Dad because she kept grabbing at my books at the sides where you normally hold a book.

Finally, since we brought Ruth home our male cat Lightning has done his best to avoid her. We finally had a break through this afternoon when Lightning allowed himself to be petted by Ruth, and he acutally started puring.

4-16-2005, Saturday:

Today Ruth went to her first MLB baseball game. Considering her father was 7, and her mother was 23 before made they it too an MLB Game I'd say she's off to a good start. Here are some pics of Ruth at the game. Too bad the Royals suck as they lost 7-1 to the Tigers.

4-14-2005, Thursday:

Ruth has finally gotten over her cold/ear infection/cough that she's had for the past 6 weeks. She's been sitting up lately and can sit up by herself for a few moments before crashing back to the floor. She can also roll over from both sides. Which mean she won't be in the same place you put her down for long. Here are some pics of Ruth playing, sitting up, and crashing.

3-29-2005, Tuesday:

Since the weather was really nice today Lisa and I took Ruth for a walk through the neighborhood. We walked down to the park where we put Ruth on the slide a few times. She had a good time. Anyway here are more pictures of Ruth in her Easter dress.

3-27-2005, Easter Sunday:

Today was Ruth's first Easter Sunday. She went to church in the outfit her Aunt Mary made for this occasion. I'll have pictures of Ruth in the Easter outfit later in the week.

However, here is a picture of Ruth during "tummy time". She has rolled over several times and it is becoming more of a normal motion instead of something that happens every once in a while.
