The nice folks here do NOT ADOPT to homes with unaltered pets ( pet overpopulation........NoNo) and a secure fence for me is mandatory; NO EXCEPTIONS (No electric fences or dog pens. Country homes are not exempt from being required to provide a fenced in yard for my safety.)
In order for me to consider your family for Adoption you will need to;

; provide a vet reference ( to make sure you'll keep me up to date on my shots, Heartworm preventive........keep me healthy)
;and all family members ( including the 4 legged kids) must travel to Kansas to meet me to insure a good match for everybody involved.
They do adopt out of state but do not ship us furkids by ourselves ( Thank God, way to scary).

FIRST AND FOREMOST THIS RESCUE IS NOT IN THE BUSINESS OF BUYING OR SELLING DOGS. THE ADOPTION FEE IS DESIGNED TO HELP RECOUP SOME OF THE MONEY THAT HAS BEEN SPENT ON EACH DOG AND ALLOW US TO CONTINUE HELPING DOGS.

EACH DOG IS SPAYED OR NEUTERED, VACCINATED, HEARTWORM TESTED AND TEETH CLEANED WHEN NECESSARY. THAT IS THE MINIMUM OF WHAT IS DONE. EACH DOG THAT HAS SPECIAL NEEDS TO LOOK AT WILL BE TREATED ACCORDINGLY AND THIS WILL ADD TO THE COST OF THE ADOPTION OF THAT DOG.

THE AVERAGE ADOPTION DONATION IS BETWEEN $150 and $250.
NO ONE WITH CONSCIENCE MAKES MONEY OFF OF RESCUE.

The following application is designed to aid both parties involved in determining whether your family and the dog are compatible. The policy of this Rescue is to insure that each person who adopts a dog is aware of this responsibility and that they are morally, financially and physically capable of accepting that responsibility. A leash is required when the dog is taken out in a public area, which enforces a leash law or any other time, which requires total control over the dog to keep him safe from vehicles and other dogs. The dog shall reside indoors in the adopters home and live as a family member and companion only. The dog will not be kept outdoors during the adopters working hours or at any other time left alone outdoors while the adopter is not home. The dog may be confined to a room such as a bedroom or basement or any other room of adequate size and protected from the elements of weather. The dog may be crated as long as he is not confined for periods so long that it becomes necessary for him to soil his crate. The crate must be large enough for the dog to lie comfortably on his side. An outside shelter such as a doghouse is not acceptable as residence except for very short periods of time when the dog is let out into the yard and only when the adopter is home. I understand that any representative from Home for Disposable Pets may do a home visit at ANY time un-anounced, and if conditions of this adoption application and contract are not being met, I understand that I forfeit the animal and ANY fees paid for said animal acquired from Home for Disposable Pets or any representative therein.
