New Mexico has been named the "The Land of Enchantment". Not only famous for it's many beauitful sites, but New Mexico also has some of the finest horses around.
The Horse Returns To America
It was the Spanish conquistadores who brought horses back to America. In 1519 Hernando Cortes carries 16 horses with him when he sailed from Havana for the conquest of Mexico. De Soto brought more than 200 horses with him when he landed in Florida in 1539. He still had most of them when he pushed on across the Mississippi River in 1541.
