My First Fan Fiction
The club was jumpin’. Literally. The music was so loud you could hear it through the supposedly sound proof walls. And this is where we find our heroes, Yusuke, Kurama, Kuwabara, Kieko, Botan, Yukina, and, surprisingly, Hiei.
“This is stupid” said Hiei bitterly. “Shut up shrimp this is where all the kids from school go to party. Right Yusuke?” responded Kuwabara. “Yep” said Yusuke, too busy staring at Kieko to pay to much attention to the conversation. “Well let’s go then” said Botan happily. “Hn.” Was all Hiei said as they walked into the biggest club in the city.
Now here we pause the tape. Its time for some introductions. I hope you all know our heroes so I won’t spend all day on them. Basically, the couples stand as this: Yusuke/Kieko; Kurama/Botan; Kuwabara/Yukina (and for your info Hiei wasn’t too happy about this); and Hiei/ no one (as usual). Now fate has a funny way of interrupting lives. Especially those that star in this little story. Let’s see what fate has in store for them today.
Music blaring Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Kurama moved out on the dance floor with there dates. Hiei thought to himself. That’s what Hiei thought There was a small scream from the back door of the club. Hiei could barely hear it over the music. Hiei looked over to the rest of the group but they where to busy to notice anything. Hiei sighed “well, I guess it’s up to me to save what ever baka is about to be killed. Great.” Hiei was out the back door and staring into the ally in the space of 3 seconds. Before him a scene played out that could have been on a drama movie. There where three thugs that had a girl backed up against the wall. Hiei guessed that the one in the middle was the boss. Mainly because the other two where just laughing stupidly.
Stop!! Ok, so , Hiei is in an ally with three thugs that have the brain capacity of buttered toast( not to insult the toast), and a girl who is presumably being beaten. What will Hiei do?
“Get away from me freak.” Said the girl. She had waist length blond hair that under normal circumstances looked nice, now it was matted with mud and what looked suspiciously like blood. Her clothes where torn and she had bruises and cuts all over her body. She wasn’t beaten yet. “Ooh, a feisty one” chortled the big one in the middle. “Baka” the girl muttered under her breath. “ you have one more chance to get away from me” “I don’t think you understand the situation here Girly.” Said the boss. He started walking towards the menacingly. “ I’m warning you…” she said. All he did was laugh. “that’s it!!” she yelled. She jumped straight over his back and onto one of the thugs faces. He wouldn’t be getting up any time soon. She kicked right out at thug 2 but he grabbed her foot and lifted her up to eye level up side down. “look what I caught boss, heh heh heh” before he could say anything else she landed a punch that broke his nose. He would be asleep for a while to. She turned to the boss but was quickly grabbed from behind by some more thugs. They pored out of the shadows like rats. Boss looked at his to down cronies and then at her. He cracked his knuckle loudly.
All right people. Keep in mind that all of this is happening right in front of Hiei and know one knows he’s there yet. I’m guessing that they’ll figure it out soon enough. What do you think?
The girl never stopped struggling. “stop wiggling” said Boss hitting her across the face. She looked up at him with eyes burning hatred so passionately that he stepped back. Then he recovered himself and hit her again. This time much harder. The thugs laughed. Something with the force of and atomic bomb went off at the sight of this girl being hit. Even though she was about Yusukes age and was obviously a fighter. Hiei stepped forward. They didn’t see him. He got there attention very quickly. It was Hiei vs. an ally full of thugs. You have to feel sorry for the thugs. After 10 went down to Hieis punches the rest wisely decided to get the heck out of there. Hiei walked over to the girl who had fallen to the floor during this whole thing. “Are you ok?” he asked her. She didn’t answer. She stood up and walked over to Bosses unconscious for and calmly kicked him in the forbidden spot. She turned to Hiei. “I’m ok. Thanks for your help.” Hiei walked over to her her. “your not ok. You need some help. Come on” he said and turned to go inside. She fallowed him in. “My name is Hitomi. Thanks for your help.” She said. “your welcome. I’m Hiei.” Hiei started to scan the crowd for Kurama and Botan. It didn’t take him long to find them right by the speakers. “come on.” He said to Hitomi. “ I have a friend who can help with your wounds. Hitomi nodded. They walked over to Kurama. “Kurama!” Hiei yelled over the noise of the speaker. Kurama didn’t hear. “KURAMA!!” Hiei yelled with all his might. Kurama turned around. “Hiei! Looks like you found a dance partner other than the wall.” “Baka. She was in a fight.” Said Hiei with mild embarrassment. “Excuse me” interrupted Hitomi. “ I don’t mean to be rude but, you don’t look like a doctor.” “You’d be surprised.” Kurama responded.
Well what do you think? Will Kurama help her? That’s a stupid question isn’t it? Ok then how bout this. What will happen if Yusuke finds out about Hieis little ‘friend’? Lets see.
Kurama turned to Botan. “Botan, could you give me, Hiei, and Hitomi a ride back to my place please?” “Sure. Id be happy to.” Botan said. “you go tell the others Ill get the oar” “The what?” said Hitomi “never mind. I’ll find out soon enough” When Kurama came back They all went outside. Hitomis jaw dropped. Floating not three feet in front of her was Botan on an oar. “ Sweet!” Hitomi said. Kurama got on behind Botan, then Hitomi, then Hiei. “ok everyone. Hold on tight” hold on to what Hitomi thought right before they lifted off. She almost lost her balance but managed to hold on to Kurama in order to stay on. She quickly released her grip realizing she was holding on to some one she didn’t even know. She quickly relaxed and leaned back against Hiei without even realizing it. She was quickly asleep with her head tucked under Hieis chin. Hiei blushed crimson but held on to her lest she fall of. Kurama looked back and smiled at the sight of a blonde haired blue eyed girl with more wounds than he cared to count asleep against Hiei. HE almost laughed when he saw Hiei holding her. “Its just so she doesn’t fall” said Hiei defensively when he saw Kuramas gaze. Kurama shook his head and turned around. By the time they landed at Kuramas house Kurama and Botan where the only ones left awake. Kurama managed to carry Hitomi and Hiei into the garden. Then he proceeded to doctor up all of Hitomis wounds using his plants. “all done” He said triumphantly to Botan. “Good job Kurama but what are we going to do with them now?” said Botan wisely Kurama thought for a minute and said “Wait down here. Ill go get some bedding and they can both just sleep in the garden.” “Ok.” 5 minutes later there where two cots set up in the garden with Hiei on one and Hitomi on the other. “Lets go.” Whispered Kurama. “They need their sleep” “ok.” Agreed Botan. They both walked out of the garden and Kurama closed the plants around the two to hid them from his mother. It wouldn’t do for her to find them.
Pause. Well, that worked out well. Now, we just have to figure out why Hitomi got messed up with the gangs. Maybe Hiei will be able to talk some information out of her. Who knows?
Hitomi sat bolt upright in bed. she thought. Then it all came back in a flash. The fight, the ride, the wound. “Ouch!” speaking of which. It hurt really bad! She lifted her shirt a bit to see a large wrap around bandage. She gently peeled it away a bit to reveal a long healing slash on her side. She put the bandage back in place and stood up. she thought. She looked next to her to see Hiei in another cot like hers. She laughed to hear him snoring. She walked around him and out of the garden. Botan was already up and sitting on the bench. “How are you feeling?” Botan asked her. “Much better than yesterday.” Said Hitomi happily. “How are you?” “Fine.” “Umm… is there a shower I can use here?” “Sure is. Kuramas at school and his mom is at work. You can use the one in the house. Come on.” Botan said leading her into the house. “Here you go she said leading her into a sparkling white bathroom and handing her a towel and washcloth. “The soap and shampoo are in there.” “Thank you” “Welcome” she said closing the door. Hitomi walked out of the bathroom 30 minutes later wrapped in a towel and dripping wet. Botan must have thrown away her other cloths because they where so ragged. “Botan?” Hitomi yelled as she entered the garden. “What is it?” came a reply from somewhere in the middle. “I don’t have any clothes!!” “Oh. I laid some in Kuramas room.” “Thank you Botan” “Welcome” Hiei almost smiled at the site of her. Almost. Hitomi ran back into the house and into the first room witch turned out to be Kuramas mothers room. “Oops. Wrong room.” “Try the second door on the left.” Said a voice from behind her. Hitomi turned around and saw Hiei leaning against the wall with his eyes closed. “Hey!” She yelled in protest. “ how long have you been fallowing me!?!” “I had my eyes closed. Now go get dressed please.” Hitomi laughed. “as you command your Highness” she teased. She emerged 10 minutes later from Kuramas room. She was wearing a sleeveless white tank top with blue jean shorts and a black jacket with read trim that had a Japanese character on the front. Her hair was straight and down. She walked into the living room where Botan was floating on her oar and Hiei was sprawled on a chair. Standing in front of them was a teenager with brown hair and a tattoo that said Jr. on his forehead. For some reason he had a pacifier in his mouth. She shook her head and walked in.
Well it appears our little friend will soon be meeting Koenma-sama. Wonder what will happen now. Well, read and see baka.
Botan nodded with approval at her out fit as she walked in. Hitomi blushed when she felt Hieis gaze on her. She didn’t know why his opinion mattered so much to her. Yes you do. Said a nasty little voice inside her but she quickly pushed that thought away. “Hello.” She said to the stranger. “Hitomi, this is Koenma. Koenma, this is Hitomi” “Hello” said Koenma. “Hiei tells me that you got into a bit of a fight the other night” “Yeah. I did. So?” “I want to know, and I’m pretty sure that your friends do to, why you got in a fight with a demon gang” “I- a what?” “The leader of the gang that you and Hiei fought with is a demon named Yoru. He goes by the name-“ “-Boss. His hide out is just down the street from the park in the center of the city. He and his gang live in an old abandoned manor. He is wanted for 35 accounts of minor theft, 25 counts of major theft, and hundreds of counts of gang related disturbances. He is also wanted for one other thing.” “and what is that” “Murder” she said softly. Botan looked at her suddenly. Hiei studied her with sharp questioning eyes. Only Koenma gave no reaction. “It seems you are already ahead a bit” he said quietly. She only nodded. “I think we should wait for the others to get here before you start talking.” Koenma said. Just as he finished talking Kurama walked it with Kuwabara and Yusuke. Kurama smiled when he saw her and said “Hitomi, these are my friends Kuwabara, and Yusuke.” “Hello.” She said politely “Hi.” Said Kuwabara and Yusuke together. “well, now that we are all here” said Koenma “ Maybe you would like to tell us some things that we need to know.” “Ok. But this will take a while” Hitomi said “It all started when I was 8 years old…”
Now it gets good. A murder? A demon? Koenma? The plot thickens. ( I always wanted to say that)
6 Years Ago
In the middle of the park a little girl lay. She couldn’t be any older that 8. She was unconscious and covered in bruises. A huge thug walked over to her and kicked her until she awoke. It would have been kinder to leave her there. “Ahhh!” she screamed in pain. More than one thing is broken. “Gettup” said a gruff voice. She ignored the voice and started to sob. “Mommy. Daddy!!” It was all she said. The thug picked her up and carried her to the manor. For the next six years she would grow up there among the violence and pain. She was trained in the ways of a street fighter and a thief. She became notorious among anyone with significant amounts of money. She could steel the contacts out of your eyes and you wouldn’t know until it was to late. She couldn’t remember anything about her life before Boss found her in the park. All she could remember was a pair of eyes staring out at her from a fire. Because of this Boss gave her the name Hitomi meaning eyes in Japanese. Exactly 6 years after that day she was sitting in the living room of the manor talking trash with some of the lower thugs when he walked in. She knew she should be grateful to him. He had saved her life, taken her in, raised her, fed her, clothed her but for some reason she hated him. “Hitomi!!” he screamed. “Yes Boss?” she asked trying to mask the hatred in her voice. “Why aren’t you out making money?” he asked “all you do is sit on your duff all day.” “The cops are still on the lookout for me from the last time I set foot out this door” “So?” “So, if I go out then they’ll see me and arrest me.” “And?” “And that’s bad.” Boss walked away. Hitomi turned to go back to the couch only to find some one had taken her spot. She didn’t even say anything. She just walked over to the moron and tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. WHAM!! She punched him right between the eyes. He wouldn’t sit in that spot again. The other thugs just laughed and the unconscious form on the floor. That night Boss came into the main room. Everything went instantly silent. “Tonight we go raiding” was all he said. All around Hitomi thugs cheered. Hitomi didn’t. 30 minutes later they where outside of a large building. “ok. Here is the plan” said Boss “ me and Hitomi will torch the building while you rob the store about 30 blocks away. That way, they will be to worried about saving the people than saving the store.” His announcement was greeted by cheers from every one but Hitomi. When the gang had left she walked up to Boss. “Boss, there are people in there” “And?” “And I won’t burn them to death. I won’t!” “You act as if you have an option.” “what do you mean?” “You don’t have a choice. Its either you or them.” “No.” “what?” “you heard me. No.” “ No one defies Boss. No one” Boss advances on her menacingly. He grabbed the can of lighter fluid and dumped it over a whole bunch of wood and news paper. “Boss. Don’t!” Hitomi demanded. Boss light the single match and threw it onto the pile. It lighted. Quickly. Hitomi could just stare across the fire at those cold red eyes. Those eyes. They looked familiar. Like something out of a dream… And they where. Suddenly all of her life came back to her in a flood. Those eyes belonged to the one from her single memory of her life. Suddenly she remembered. She remembered walking into her house at the age of 8 to find her mother and her father dead. Remembered seeing the man with a single match begin to torch the place. Remembered running and running. “you!” she whispered vehemently. “ You killed my parents, torched my house. All my life I looked for those eyes and all my life I lived with them.” With that she ran, and ran, and ran. She didn’t know where she was running and didn’t care. Suddenly she was outside a club. And there was no way out. Then Hiei came. Wow. That I did not see coming. He murdered her parents and then she lived with him and worked for him. Lets see what happens next
The Present
Silence. It was so thick you could have cut it with a knife. Hitomi just sat there trying to calm herself. “Excuse me” she said and walked outside into the garden. She ran as far back into is as she could and found a river. She sat by it and cried. She cried so hard she didn’t notice the black figure in the tree next to her. Hiei watched silently uncertain of what to do. He wanted to comfort her but didn’t know how. This was Kuramas area of expertise not his. He heaved a gentle sigh and dropped down next to her. She didn’t even look up. “ I can hardly even remember them Hiei. I was only 8. He killed them. He killed them both. Then he stole my childhood. Stole my innocence. All the things I’ve seen and helped him do.” She sobbed. “Sh. Its ok.” Said Hiei awkwardly placing a hand on her shoulder. She just leaned into him and cried. Hiei let her cry stroking her hair gently. Finally the sobs stopped. She sat up and stared at him with her tear stained eyes full of determination and hatred. “He will pay. He has to.” She said softly. Hiei nodded. “We won’t let him get away with this.” “No we wont” said a voice from the bushes. Hiei tensed but it was just Kurama. “we’ll help to” said Yusuke as he and Kuwabara stepped out of the bushes. “we will all help but you have to help us to” said Koenma gently. “what must I do?” Hitomi said.
Man this is getting good. And what is with Hiei offering comfort? Does he actually care for this 14 year old Ningen girl? Lets see.
The door to the manor flew open. “Boss!” yelled a female voice full of fury “Show your sorry carcass. I challenge you. Here and Now!!” Hitomi stood and the door or what was now left of it.. Boss stood. “I accept your challenge shoujo. I will make you regret ever coming back” They all walked outside. Boss drew a circle in the dirt. “I call skin match. No weapons. The last person alive wins. Step out of the circle and you die. Slowly and painfully” said Boss clearly. Hitomi gave a humorless smile that chilled him to the bone. “Fine by me.” She stepped forward as her friends stepped out of the shadows. Hiei was in the front, sword in hand. “Oh and one more thing.” She said sweetly “no outside interference from either side.” Boss grunted in agreement. Hitomi and Boss stepped into the circle and the battle of their lives ensued. Hitomi wasted no time on the usual tossing of battle banter. She lashed out and landed a painful blow to the side of his head. Followed by two swift kicks. One to each side. She waited for him to recover slightly and then kicked him in the middle. As he doubled over in pain she brought her knee up and in the silence you could hear his jaw break. She tried to land another kick but Boss had recovered from the initial shock and grabbed her foot. He flipped her over and into the dirt. He landed to rabbit punches to her stomach and more than one ribbed cracked. Hiei almost stepped forward but Kurama held him In check. Just as Boss was about to land a kick that would surly kill her she rolled out of the way and jumped up. She flipped over his head landing on his back. She ground his face into the dirt. She jumped up allowing him to breath. As he started to get up she jumped on him again. Then she rammed her elbow into his back. When he didn’t get up she flipped him over. He was unconscious wit his nose dripping blood. She kicked him and woke him up. She stood back as he coughed up blood. She spit at his feet. He charged at her and knocked her into the earth. He the n proceded to pound her. Again and again her hit her until her face was one big bruise. She managed to through him off. He charged at her again. She moved aside. He wasn’t able to stop before her ran out of the circle. She stepped up to him. “You lost Boss. You stepped out of the circle.” “Kill me then and get it over with.” “No.” “Why?” “Because death would be too easy for you. Death is the coward’s way out.” “Than what do you think you are going to do with me?” “You are forever shamed Boss. You are the lowest of the low. You lost to a girl have your size. You’re a pitiful excuse for a demon. You are banished from her and Spirit World. You are forever shamed. If I, Koenma-sama., or any of our friends see you, you will have to run for your life. Now, start running” she said in a loud voice grinning evilly. Boss ran. By the time the fight was over all of his followers had also run. She walked over to Hiei. “We won” she said tiredly “You won” he said but she didn’t hear him. She passed out. Hiei managed to catch her before she fell. Hiei looked at Kurama. “She’ll be ok. She’s just tired” said Kurama. Yusuke and Kuwabara snickered. “Nice catch shrimp” said Kuwabara. Hiei didn’t even notice he was already on his way back to Kuramas house with Hitomi in his arms.
Ok, that rocked. Even through all Boss had done to her Hitomi still showed him mercy. And I think for once Hiei let his feelings for someone show.
Hitomi opened her eyes. She was back in the garden surrounded by flowers. Hiei was the only one there. “Hiei…” she started to say. “Sh. You need rest. You have been out for 4 days. You scared everybody quite a bit.” She reached for his hand. “Thank you” she said softly. “For what?” Hiei mumbled “For waiting, for being there, for comforting me, for protecting me, I could keep this list going on all day.” “Your welcome. Now rest” She nodded and fell asleep still holding Hieis hand. She woke up later the next morning. Hiei was still there. He was asleep at the side of her bed. Kurama walked in about a half an hour later. “Good morning Hitomi.” “Good morning Kurama. Do you have any food?” Kurama laughed. “We sure do. Should I bring some for Hiei?” “Yes please. He’ll be hungry when he wakes up” she said. Kurama came back a couple minutes later with two trays of food. “Here you go.” He said laying the trays at her side. “ I’ll be back a little later” “Thanks Kurama” she said. As He turned to leave she said “Kurama?” “Yes Hitomi?” “How long did he stay here?” she asked pointing at Hiei. Kurama smiled “the entire time.” He left her to her confused thoughts. She shook her head. “Hiei? Wake up.” She said. She shook him a little. “Wake up Hiei!” she said louder this time. “Hn? Wha? What is it?” “Kurama brought food.” “Thanks” he said accepting the bowl a cereal from his tray. They ate in silence for a while. “Hiei? Why did you wait here the entire time?” Hiei was silent for a while. “Because I was worried” He said after a while. “well, thanks” They finished eating in silence. Then Hitomi decided to try and walk around a bit. Hiei helped her down to the river. They sat for a while. Eventually Hitomi fell asleep with her head on Hieis shoulder. Hiei lay down on the grass and laid her next to him. He just sat there for the longest time just savoring the moment. “I love you.” He said softly. Much to his own amazement. “I love you two” Hitomi said softly and scooted closer to him. Hiei just stared at her in amazement. Kurama found the two sound asleep in the grass. He shook his head and turned around to leave them there. Looks like some one had finally found a place in the fire demons hard heart.
