Mark and Melissa Hadsall were both born and raised in Paola, Kansas where they still live today, among their families and friends. In January of 2000, Mark was diagnosed with Severe Emphysema and had to give up the truck-driving job that he loved to go on total disability. His condition has deteriorated further in the past few years, and he now has only 20% of his lung capacity. He has been in and out of the hospital three times since last October and is now on oxygen. His doctors consider him an excellent candidate for a bilateral transplant. In the next few months he will be going Barnes Memorial Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri for a lung transplant evaluation. The transplant process is very costly and there will be many uninsured transplant related expenses including travel, relocation to the transplant center and expensive co payments.
In order to meet these expenses we have established a transplant fund for Mark with the National Transplant Assistance Fund (NTAF), a 501c3 nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for the past 20 years.
