ABOUT PMU'S

PMU stands for Pregnant Mare Urine. Farms in the northern United States and Canada supply drug companies with the key ingredient: estrogen laced pregnant mares' urine. Estrogen is extracted from the urine to produce hormone replacement therapy drugs such as Premarin. They do this because it is a necessity for many women, but with pregnant mares you also get foals.
