On August 27, 1970, a beautiful baby girl was born
to Oscar and Joanne Kersey. There were three boys waiting for their baby
sister to come home. Once she entered the house,
a lot of things changed. She became in charge
of most things from that point until now.
At the age of 17, she graduated
from Hillside High School in Durham, N.C. A week later, she found
out that she was pregnant. She was blessed with a beautiful baby girl named
Sharna. Four years later, another precious jewel came into her life named
DeVonda. She had a strong desire to one day continue her education, once
her daughters became independently capable of maintaining themselves.
In August 2002, she
enrolled in the Accounting program at Central Carolina Community College.
She received her Accounting Diploma in May 2003. Since that time, she decided
to continue her education to receive an Accounting Degree. She has become
a role model for many students and family members. She is currently
employed at Wal-Mart in Sanford, N.C. as a cashier where she is always
greeting customers with a smile along with her friendly, outgoing personality.
During the summer semester 2003, at Central Carolina
Community College, she decided to take a required course of study.
She made the decision based on her willingness and desire to achieve her
goal as an accountant. The course that she
is currently enrolled in is listed below.
