PRESIDENT'S WELCOME
Since the advent of the super-highway, the world of communication has taken on added significance. The Computer Age is down on us changing the speed and direction of communicating.

In five short years the Fax was almost placed in extinction giving way to the Internet and e-mail and the various programmes. Some of us who are reluctant to get into the fast lane have managed to master only the art of sending and receiving e-mail. The more keen among us have gone to Power Point presentations learning the intricacies of this new high powered tool.

It has reached the stage where www to us no longer means Weekes, Worrell and Walcott but the World Wide Web.

It is to this vehicle that the Association has hitched a ride providing information for the world to see but more specifically for K.C. Purple to access and provide information on the College, historical and futuristic.

As we launch the Kingston College Old Boys Association Jamaica Website, we laud those responsible for finally getting it on stream. We trust that Old Boys will supply anecdotes, historical facts and other materials of interest to make this the best High School Website as is our wont.

Happy surfing and FORTIS FOREVER .

THE CREST
The “Crest” bears the colours purple and white which represents the Episcopal colours and speaks of our religious connections. Purple was the colour the Roman Empire and was used by the Greeks to honour their Olympic heroes. The pineapple symbolises the field of labor and fruitfulness, The dog, the animal of loyalty, fidelity and watchfulness. The book represents the Bible and academics. The motto Fortis Cadere Cedere Non Protest translates into “ The Brave May Fall But Never Yield.”
The crest was design by Mr. Frank Cundall, then Curator at the Institute of Jamaica.

CENTENARY SCHOLARSHIP
This makes the third consecutive year that a Kingston College student has won the coveted award. Michael Condel in 2000, Robert Collie in 2001 and Adrian Nembhard in 2002

St. AUGUSTINE CHAPEL
The chapel was name after St. Augustine of Hippo, the African saint who had a profound effect on Christian teaching around the time of the Romans.
