Notes: The Chargers’ Dennis Pardee kicked a tie-breaking 45-yard field goal as time elapsed to give San Diego the victory. After Cid Edwards’ 1-yard plunge and the extra point had tied the game at 17 with 17 seconds remaining in the last period, the Cardinals’ bid for an on-side kick failed and San Diego recovered. John Hadl’s 10-yard pass to Gary Garrison set up the winning field goal.
