Notes: The
The Dolphins held a 10-7 lead at the end of the first
period, which represented the most points scored by two teams in an opening
quarter of a Super Bowl. However, the 49ers used excellent field position in
the second period to build a 28-16 halftime lead.
Running back Roger Craig set a Super Bowl record by scoring
three touchdowns on pass receptions of eight and 16 yards and a run of two
yards.
Craig had 58 yards on 15 carries and caught seven passes for
77 yards. Wendell Tyler rushed 13 times for 65 yards and had four catches for
70 yards.
Dwight Clark had six receptions for 77 yards, while Russ
Francis had 5 for 60.
