Notes: Pittsburgh, looking to
even the series, scores on an early power play when the go on a man advantage
after a 4-on-4.
Ottawa,
outmuscling the Pens, ties it up in the second period when Spezza scores on
another 4-on-4. More undisciplined play
by Pittsburgh
results in more power play time and another goal for the Senators.
In the third period, Pittsburgh
ties the score during a power play, but Ottawa
regains the lead while the Penguins are caught in a shift change. Pittsburgh
hangs tough and ties it again, with Staal positioned in front for the pass from
behind the net. Sid the Kid puts the
Pens up by a goal on a sweet pass from “The Recching Ball.” The Penguins withstand the 6-skater Ottawa attack in the last
two minutes to take a tied series home to the Igloo.
