Notes:  This first-ever playoff game between these two teams turns out to be an action-packed one.  The Senators come out strong and strike with a lightning shot by Meszaros in the first 2 minutes.  They continue to dominate by scoring again 5 minutes later.  The Penguins recover a little, killing off a 5-on-3 Ottawa power play.  The first period ends with Ottawa on another power play, the result of an undisciplined effort by Pittsburgh.

Ottawa increases their lead halfway through the 2nd period on yet another power play, but Staal sneaks one in to make it 3-1.

Dany Heatley starts the 3rd period off with a goal at 19:51.  Neil makes it 5-1 on a 2-on-1 breakaway, and Comrie wraps up Ottawa’s scoring with over 11 minutes left.  Pittsburgh scores on a 2-man advantage, and Crosby finally scores his first postseason goal with 49 seconds left during a 4-minute Ottawa penalty.
