Notes:  The Royals best the Yankees in their 2008 Home Opener by putting up a great pitching performance.  Bannister shut down A-Rod, who went 2-for-2 last year, both hits home runs.  37,296 fans braved the cold, wind and wet weather to see the new hi-def video scoreboard, widened bullpens, and the familiar fountains, and they were treated to a win over the hated Yankees as a bonus.  Joey Gathright had 3 stolen bases, Ross Gload had 2 RBIs, and manager Trey Hillman had his first home win with the Royals.  Is good baseball back in KC?
