Notes:  NFL Monday Night Football began as the Browns intercepted three passes by Joe Namath and held off a late New York bid before the largest crowd ever to see a football game in Cleveland.  The Browns scored via a Bill Nelsen pass to Gary Collins, a run by Bo Scott, a 94-yard kickoff return by Homer Jones and Billy Andrews’ first career interception.  George Sauer contributed 172 yards to the Jets’ cause on 10 receptions, and Matt Snell carried 16 times for 108 yards.
