Notes:  This is the famous “five-goals-five-different-ways” game.  Mario Lemieux the league’s leading scorer, scores six times in this classic, five different ways:  even strength, short-handed, power play, penalty shot, and empty net.  The Devils had the better all-around play, outshooting the Pens 35-19, but Pittsburgh had Super Mario.  The win kept them at the top of the Patrick Division ahead of the New York Rangers.
