Notes: Pittsburgh escapes an
early onslaught by the North Stars and score first when Ulf Samuelsson scores
from the point near the blue line after a faceoff. Broten ties it up 3 minutes later, and Dahlen
puts the Stars ahead not long after. Mario
ties it up in the second period with a sweet shorthanded goal, making it look
easy. Bureau returns the favor three
minutes later, scoring his own shorthanded goal. Young ties it up again with a blast from the
blue line. Broten puts Minnesota up again with less than three
minutes left in the second period. Bobby
Smith gives the North Stars game one about halfway through the third period. The Pens get another goal past the foot of Jim
Casey, but it’s not enough and Minnesota outplays them for the remainder of the
game.
Thanks Jim!
