Notes:  Kansas City stops the Oilers on their opening drive, but are unable to produce a score on their ensuing drive and punt the ball away.  Anthony Davis picks off HOU QB Chris Chandler and sets the Chiefs up for a 47-yard field goal.  William White intercepts Chandler at the end of the first quarter, and KC QB Steve Bono finds Webster Slaughter in the end zone to start the second quarter.  Houston manages a touchdown with 26 seconds left in the half when Chandler tosses a pass to Chris Sanders in the back of the end zone.  The try for the two-point conversion, but S Brian Washington knocks it down to make the score 10-6 at the half.

Houston comes out strong after halftime, frustrating the Kansas City offense and forcing a punt.  Chandler, who was hit hard on the last play of the first half, cannot move the chains and Houston punts.  When the Oilers get the ball back, the offensive line comes together and gives Chandler enough protection to move the ball, while the defense holds the Chiefs in their own territory.  Houston finally hits paydirt on 4th and 25 with 1:46 left in the game when Chandler throws into a crowd and Sanders comes up with the ball for a touchdown.

This copy is missing Houston’s extra point and the last 1:46 of the game, including KC’s winning TD.

KC improves to 10-1 for the first time in franchise history.

Thanks Steven!
