Notes:  Don Cockroft’s fourth field goal of the game, a 27-yarder with 15 seconds left in overtime, enabled Cleveland to win its fourth straight season opener.  Cockroft sent the game into overtime with a 35-yard field goal that came four seconds before the final gun. The field goal came after the Browns had driven 52 yards on one play – a 37-yard pass from Brian Sipe to Dave Logan and a roughing the passer penalty. Cleveland’s winning score was set up by a 33-yard interception return by Oliver Davis and a 21-yard Sipe-to-Logan pass.
