Notes:  After a 2-hour game delay, the Royals get down to business and take a 4-1 lead in the first inning.  Lousy pitching soon gives that lead up, however, and despite scoring three more runs the boys in blue cannot get it done against a weak Chicago offense.  Chicago pitcher Mike McDougal gave his former team every opportunity to take the game away, with three walks and two wild pitches that yielded three runs for the home team.  But the Royals bullpen manages to slip to 1-7 and send their team to an AL-worst 6-14 record.
