TRAILS

The Lake Tahoe area offers trails for every hiker from "walkers" to the serious backpacker. There are enough hiking trails in the Lake Tahoe Basin to keep an avid hiker busy for years.

Know that weather conditions can change rapidly in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Bring proper clothing, equipment and plenty of water, no matter how short the hike!

Great Beginner Trails:

Fallen Leaf Lake
Cascade Falls
Eagle Falls & Lake
Tahoe Rim Trail - Kingsbury

STORIES "The Tahoe Rim Trail left us literally "breathless" due to the high elevation (around 8000 feet) but the scenery was wonderful. We started at the Kingsbury trailhead, found two walking sticks waiting for us and began our peaceful hike. We only encountered one other hiker and a pair of mountain bikers during our journey. We were rewarded with beautiful mountain-framed views of Lake Tahoe while walking through a forest. This was our last hike on our vacation in the Tahoe area and we made the most of it!
