Eabacteria

A Kingdom of Life

Description

Description Eubacteria are unicellular prokaryotes and are probably the main type of bacteria that most people think of. This type of bacteria rots teeth, sours and clumps milk, and can cause food poisoning. This bacteria uses oxygen but cannot live in its presence.

3 Main Phyla

  • Proteobacteria-
  • This phyum contains nitrogen fixing bacteria (nitrogen is taken from its molecule and changed into compounds) and pathogens (can cause disease). They have cell walls and cannot produce gram stains. (See Cyanobacteria) Also they are anaerobic.
  • Cyanobacteria,-
  • This phylum is single celled and does not have a defined nucleus. They are found almost any where able to take a low amount of light and low amount of oxygen. They produce food by photosyntesis and reproduce by fission.
  • Gram-Positive Eubacteria-
  • Most organisms that are part of this phylum produce a stain pattern when around certaim types of grams. The bacteria's that do not do this contain a peptidoglycan in their cell was which are polysaccharide and peptide chains. Both are photosynthetic and can handle severe conditions because they have endospores. A cell inside of a cell.

Example Animal

Treponema pallidum Bacteria- This bacteria's genus name is Treponema and its species name is pallidum. This bacteria is most commonly passed on by mother to child or could be transmitted between partners.. Mainly this bacteria lives in any place that it has infected. Humans are the natural environment for this bacteria. They are exclusively pathogens. The organism stays in the human tissue and recieves nutrients from there. It obsorbs blood, serum, and tissue particles feed this organism making the culture grow. Some interesting facts are that the first time in which the bacteria organism was found and is dated back all the way to the 15th century. Stil to this day there is no cure or way to kill this infectious disease/organism once it has entered a human body. The organism causes victims to be fatigued, weak, and can even become anorexic. It can cause a disease called Syphilis which can take up to 20 years to be found. For example Syphilis is sexually transmitted disease that this bacteria lives in. The bacteria can also make its way into the human body through broken skin. Different types of theropy have been known to slow down the organism, but in the long run it will always have an effect of the home environment that it lives in.
