My Husband - Mark

The pictures above are of my husband, Mark. He is one of the most wonderful men I have ever met in my life. He spent years working on deep sea fishing boats and in Alaska canneries before moving home. There he worked as a seasonal worker but had to quit after suffering a back injury doing a construction job. At that point he went to school to become a drug and alcohol counselor. He enjoyed working with patients but was only able to remain in the field for a couple of years as the result of yet more life changes. However, he has always demonstrated a desire and willingness to help those in need. One of his friends said it well when he took me to meet her. During the conversation she said, “I see Mark still has a counseling spirit”. He certainly does! Not only does he want to see people succeed, he places value on their soul! It is a common thing to hear Mark evangelize God’s Word. He is strong in his Christian beliefs and fears for the souls of those who have not received the Lord.

Mark was raised in the Catholic Church and has attended many protestant churches during his life. He has studied the Bible in depth and sponsored me in RCIA classes. Attending those classes was a wonderful experience for both of us. It allowed me to follow my husband and for him to lead me while following Jesus. Just as it was intended.

It can sometimes be hard to describe love, and I wondered how I would tell you just exactly how I feel about Mark. Then, during an RCIA class, I was given the answer. The instructor was explaining things that are “Holy” and marital love was one of them. At that moment I began to understand my feelings for my husband. Having been raised Baptist, I was taught “The two shall become one” but I didn’t fully understand it and I had certainly never experienced it. Now I realize that when both husband and wife follow God, together, they are not only one with each other, but with the Lord too! This explains the feelings of wholeness, serenity, joy, and happiness I feel in my marital relationship. I thank God for blessing me and I thank Mark for allowing me to be his partner in love, marriage and Faith!

I love you Mark!

God Bless all of you!

I get lost in your eyes
And I feel my spirits rise
And soar like the wind..
Is it love that I am in?

I get weak in a glance
Isn’t that what’s called romance?
...and now I know
’cause when I’m lost I can’t let go

I don’t mind not knowing what I’m headed for
You can take me to the skies...
It’s like being lost in heaven
When I’m lost in your eyes

I just fell, don’t know why
Something’s there we can’t deny...
And when I first knew
Was when I first looked at you

And if I can’t find my way
If salvation seems worlds away
Oh, I’ll be found
When I am lost in your eyes

I don’t mind not knowing what I’m headed for
You can take me to the skies...
Oh it’s like being lost in heaven
When I’m lost in your eyes

I get weak in a glance
Isn’t this what’s called romance?
Oh, I’ll be found
When I am lost in your eyes
