Friends of Matrim

Mat's friends are Rand al'Thor and Perrin Aybara from the Two Rivers. They were all childhood friends who grew up together. After Winter's Night that's when everything changes them.

Rand al'Thor is proclaming to be the Dragon Reborn, the incarnate of Lews Telemon. He can channel, which brings fear and hope to everyone. For he will save the world, but also in the process destroy it.

Rand has the looks of an Aiel. He's taller than anyone in the Two Rivers. His hair is redish brown and he has grey eyes, unlike the brown hair and brown eyes of Mat and Perrin, who are of average height.

Rand's personality in the begining is a shy, stubborn, and reasonable. After he finds out he can channel his personality starts to change. Fearing that he's going mad already, for man who can channel go mad in a couple of years from the taint on saidin-the male half of the True Source. He starts to laugh at the oddest of times and his patience seems to be thining. Now he has a little more control of the Power and at the end of all the books so far he chases after the Dark One or the Forsaken and gains more power from each battle.

Perrin Aybara is the strongest of the two boys because of his apprenticeship in the forge with Master Luthan.

His looks are slightly curly brown hair and brown eyes. Common in the Two Rivers. He has more muscle than the other boys as well.

Perrin's personality is of a quiet one, who is methodical in his work. Taking things step by step is his way; he hates to be rushed. This probably comes from taking time to craft the pieces of iron in the forge. Also he doesn't want to hurt anyone with his strength, so he's very gentle.

After Winter's Night he finds that he can communicate with wolves. He's scared by it, not wanting to face it, even though his apperance changes. His semi curly brown hair is very curly now and he grows a beard. His eyes aren't soft brown, now they're burnished gold. His hearing and smelling senses have heightened to those of a wolf's.

He recieves an axe and doesn't like it, not wanting to be a killer. But after killing he becomes bolder and braver, his gentle nature is still there though.

I'm sorry if some of that information isn't correct, I'm just going off of my memory and the last book I read of WoT was The Shadow Rising. I'll try to get more information on them though.
