The third race's field of fillies and colts are warming up right now. The track listing just changed from muddy to sloppy. The rain is just pouring down out there. Those jocks are going to take some mud today, folks! A look at the favorites-

Twighlight Wildfire enters the race as the favorite. This filly may be the pick of the crowd today because of her nice post position, starting from post 2. The one horse was scratched earlier today, so this filly had the best place in the field. Richter Scale also liked and Rumors And Gossip the third favorite today, under the same ownership as the favorite, another filly! They're loading in the gate-
One colt and the rest fillies are in. One colt leff to load. Academy Award is having some problems loading. They're circling him...the last horse in to load, he's giving the rest of the field time to fidgit. He's in...they're ready....

Academy Award and Jamie's Love shoot out to the front.
SSF Thunder Serenade hot on their trail in third. Back 2 lengths to Princess Blaze and Richter Scale. Rumors And Gossip is in 6th. Back another length to Twilight Wildfire, looking to be off a beat late. Jypsie On A Whim completes the field looking unsettled.
Jamie's Love dropping back, being rated in third. SSF Thunder Serenade moves up and tries to take the lead from Academy Award. It's SSF Thunder Serenage as they come around the third. Slow fractions here in the mud. Only 28 seconds for the half! Twilight Wildfire putting in a valint effort in the mud, moving up more, now only a length off Princess Blaze in 5th, who is to the outside of Richter Scale, saving ground on the rail. Rumors And Gossip sitting very cool in 6th on the rail.
Princess Blaze being asked for her run! This filly is flying through the mud! With 2 furlongs to go, she's a lenth off the leaders! Jamie's Love drops back to 4th. Academy Award looking like he tiring. The colts drifing out! SSF Thunder Serenade takes the lead while Richter Scale is forced to be checked behind Academy Award, now holding 5th.
They're coming down the stretch! What a run Princess Blaze is putting in! She's giving it all she has and is now in the lead! Drawing away! Now Richter Scale and Rumors And Gossip kick in, trying to beat this tiring filly! SSF Thunder Serenade now struggling to hold third. Jamie's Love finding her stride as well but it's too late! They're under the wire! And its Rumors And Gossip who takes it! Princess Blaze trying hard in 2nd, back 1 length to Academy Award, with SSF Thunder Serenade holding on in 4th. Richter Scale caught up a bit in traffic in 5th.

A wonderful effort by the fillies today! Rumors And Gossip showing her class in the mud. A filly to watch, possibly. The favorite's dissapointing finish was a bit of an upset, but perhaps she'll have better luck next time on a fast track. The only colt in the top four, Ricter Scale, got outrun but also raced some traffic problems. A messy race, and only the third so far. Next up is another 2 year old maiden for colts.
