    Hello!  This is Kathy and Calvin Lee and their big dog, Marco Polo.  They also have a little dog, Taco, and a big cat Turbo.  They all came to Sterling, Colorado, in June 1997, 20 years after settling in Denver and Wheat Ridge, Colorado and buying their first rental property.  The purpose of moving to Sterling was to find a small town with good rental housing to buy, where both personal growth and quality of life might be possible.  Calvin also started a new job at NJC.

    The prison was being built within a year of our arrival,and this provided us housing opportunities, as prison employees brought more population.  We sold our duplex in Wheat Ridge and reinvested in Sterling homes, trading one duplex for two rental houses and a duplex.  Our goal was to become familiar with the City of Sterling and Logan County, get involved in community activities, and manage our properties.

    Since we have completed renovation and have found good tenants, we now will concentrate on a business goal--managing others' properties, and providing service businesses and townspeople with communication links.  Our goals include linking services, so that they can be performed more efficiently and at a better price.

    A new service business will be born (see link below).  We have an interest in getting newcomers settled in quickly, and in making affordable, quality housing available as soon as possible.

    Services I hope to offer include:

    Rental Support Services:
    * Credit checks and pre-screening of applications to making getting into housing more efficient and safer for landlords;
    * Application, lease and other document preparation to help the newcomers to our area find the best property for their budgets;
    * Web site design and listing of houses and apartments for rent (concentrating on single family dwellings);
    * Agent, owner, and lessee liason services (mostly for people too busy for this or out of town);
    * Community introduction and help services for newcomers.  (Using quality services already available in Sterling.)
    * Light cleaning and preparation for showings for real estate agents getting ready to show their properties (We plan to utilize bonded/bondable local residents who have specific needs and will do a good job);
    * Heavy cleaning and detailing of properties, when time allows, to get them ready for new tenants.  We also have a staff of professionals for this;
    * Arranging for repairs, maintenance, etc. (we've done this for years);
    * Bookkeeping (as needed);
    * Evictions - We can start them and can go all the way to judgment and garnishment if you like. I am a former paralegal, and I will do this service at last resort for my own properties);
    * Shopping for business/rental supplies and services (with emphasis on value);
    * Pre-screening large purchase information;
    * Pet management

    Home Services we may offer later as the community stablizes following completion of Sterling Correctional Facility:
    * Community liason work (public relations);
    * House sitting and meeting with or overseeing repairmen/installers;
    * Arranging for home-style cooking (as time permits);
    * Flower arranging, crafts, and decorating; and
    * Comparing prices/checking references
    * Handling every manner of detail
 
    * Help with movers, and help getting settled.
