Chuck's Hi this is my 311 page. It is devoted to my personaly favorite band...duh 311! Any way i will update it daily and add links whenever possible so enjoy! 311 is a band from Omaha, Nebraska who creates music that displays a variety of styles. It has a sound containing rap, raggae, hip-hop, jazz, and hard rock. If you have only heard the songs "Down", "All Mixed Up", or "Transistor" then I suggest you listen to more of what they have to offer. I promise you won't be let "down down." hehe sorry. The self titled album and Transistor are 311's most popular albums but their other albums, especially the early ones, should not be overlooked.Before the three Capricorn CD's, there were three rare albums that are difficult to find now: Dammit! (1990), Unity (1991), and Hydroponic (1992). Try to get your hands on these if you can, they're a treat! OK.. the "mysterious" reason they are called 311 is because a friend and former guitarist (before Tim), Jim Watson, was caught skinnydipping once - also known as a 311 - the Omaha police code for indecent exposure. They liked the way it sounded, so they used it as the band name. Never before this point, nor anytime in the future will they beleive in kkk, or say that's where they got their name. Anyway I'd like to say that I have never liked a band so much as I have 311. I am glad to see that they have finally gotten the success that they deserve, and I hope they continue to make great music that us true 311 fans will love way after the radio or "trendies" don't accept them anymore.
