The tour dates are posted now, to check those out click here! The SBk's are playing one more show in Lawrence before the tour begins. The show is on Monday, June 25, 2001 @ the ex-Pirate House (300 W. 14th St.) w/ TemEyosKi, Them of Delphi & New Morning, Changing Weather. It should start around 7pm and only cost a couple of bucks. The Kidz are going to record in August for another 7" that should be out by October.
We only have about 25 copies of the SBk/JBk split 7" left. We're going to get 100 more before we go on tour, but after that they're gone forever! (hopefully)
YAY! So if you'd like to get a copy of "the Kids Split" JBk/SBk 7" (which captures the glory days of the Pirate House on vinyl) the record is $3.50 ppd and you can write us at:

Or come to a show, jerk face. We also have patches, t-shirts and someday buttons and stickers. Sorry we don't have a sweet ass "merch" page up. If you have any questions about that kind of shit, email us at ShortBusKidz@hotmail.com
Thanks and goodnight.

The SBk's played 2 shows so far this spring, both at the Pirate House in Lawrence. The demo tapes are sold out but there are still 7's left. For more info on that email ShortBusKidz@hotmail.com . There are plans to put out a 7" before the tour this summer. More info on that later. The Kidz also plan to record in late June/early July for another new 7" by the end of summer. More stickers and patches are on the way. And maybe T-shirts eventually. You know, all that merch shit that touring bands live off of. Maybe there'll be sbk underpants.
portland is lame.

The Kidz played 2 shows over the winter break: one at El Torreon on December 23, and the other at the Pirate House on December 29th. The Dec 23rd show was the official 7" release party with JBk. Only 2 members of JBk made it to that show, so the 29th was more like a real release party, with over 100 kids crammed into the pirate house, the show was amazing. Debuting at the Pirate House were 2 new bands: Olsen Terror and Sobriety Check. Sobriety Check had actually played a show a few weeks earlier with Good Clean Fun at the Goondocks, but this was their first exposure to a bigger crowd. Also, One Concern reunited to play a set at the show. All in all, it was an amazing nights, many things were broken, windows, mics and a huge gap formed in the floor (now you can see into the pirate house basement from the show room), this just added to the youthful energy and power of the show. Sbk would like to thank all the kids who came out and made these two shows really fun, and Ben from the controlled for repeatedly fixing Mike's mic when it got knocked over at the pirate house. We'll be back in mid-February with Olsen Terror and more at the pirate house. See ya then. Thanks.

Holy shit! It's been over 3 months since anything remotely SBk happened. But finally some news came in. The JBK/SBk 7" split is being pressed this week, the test pressing sounded great. The 3 SBk songs on the record are "I Can't Breathe" "Corporate Amerikkka Still Sux a Fatty, But WE have a Jumping Box." and "the People's Rally." They will be available by the time of the December 23rd show. Expect a JBk/SBk record release show sometime before that. Also, SBk is going to release a limited edition (50 copies) demo tape in December which will contain "F.O.A.D." "Martha Stewart's Cuttin' Cheese" "Go Away" and "Manslaughter." This tape should be about $2 and will have hand assembled covers. Verrrrry nice! The final two tracks from the August recording session, "We're Nothing" and "Shoes at the Mall" are going on a local tape comp called "Kansas Fastcore Volume 1: the Gospel of Fast." Other groups on the comp are: JBk, Lost Pride, the Syndicate, Sobriety Check, Olsen Terror, and Kansas City's best-kept secret, Kask-it. The tape comp should be available for $2 or $3 by the show at the Pirate House on December 29. Over the winter break from skool, the Kidz are going to try to record 4 or 5 new songs and put out their own 7" next spring. Hife returns from England on December 17 and BiLL KiLL gets back a few days later. Hife is back to stay (for now), but KiLL is returning to Wussconsin. But we'll prolly play a few shows this spring. Aight. If you have any questions, email us at ShortBusKidz@hotmail.com Bonjour le Maird Gesicht.

Ok, so the Granada show flaked out. There was some poor communication on our part and it never got promoted so i don't even think it's still going on. Anyway, there IS a show at the 14th St. Pirate House on Saturday, August 26, 2000! Featuring Zegota (from N.C.), Filthy Jim and several other bands. It's a going away party for some Pirate/Lawrence kids and it's gonna be huge. See the shows page for more details. SBk is still planning on recording this weekend, and you can probably expect some all new mp3's to be up by the end of next week. Also, last week in Pitch there was another piece written about us by Andrew Miller. Check it out here. This Saturday is the last SBk show for about 5 months, cuz our bassist and drummer are leaving for skool. So quit asking us to play shows this fall, cuz it's not gonna fuking happen. Gingivitis.
August 18, 2000
Flash, SBK is going into a recording studio at the end of this month to record about 7 or 8 songs. An SBK 7" will be released by October and a the split with JBK will probably be released a little bit later. Don't forget our final show for about 5 months is on August 26, 2000 at the Granada. We're still sketchy on details, so if that show should fall thru for some reason, look for SBK to be playing at the pirate house that night. But... we'll see. More info on that coming soon. Iowa always makes me a sentimental fool. Memories. eat a bowl of fuk, yuk.

It came to our attention the other day that the Pitch Weekly wrote a review of the Good Clean Fun show last month, which included a paragraph about us. It was written by Andrew Miller, and to check it out, click here to go to the pitch website. Anyway, SBk's recording came out pretty well, they did 4 songs which adds to the list of literally 100's of songs over the years. More recording to come in August. Slaughter off.

Ok, the last post was really nothing. So here's some useful SBK news. SBK has several split's lined up for this summer. Our first split is going to be with JBK (John Brown's Kids) and it will be called "the kid's split!" This will be on 7" vinyl by mid-summer. Our second split which is still somewhat tentative is a split tape with the Mongoloids. We also have splits planned with Rotting Broccoli and another group I can't remember the name of. But it's 2 young ladies playing the piano and singing. SBk is going to record within the next couple of weeks. All the 7"s will be extremely limited in number, so pick one up if ya see it, otherwise, yr missing out on Kansas HC history! chump. Take the X off the cross and put it back in the pit! 14th Street HC.

This web page has been stagnant for a month and a half. I'm not sorry. I've been really busy. Yadda yadda. Here's the news. Yuk now lives in lawrence. BiLL KiLL is back from skool. The show on the 28th will be the first full SBK show in a long while. Joe who played drums for SBK has picked up a guitar for us. So right now we're a 5 piece. Piece of what i dunno. Our new sound is comparable to 80's period posi-core with a touch of Rites of Spring and a dash of early Jawbreaker. Ha ha. Anyway, come see SBK on the 28th at El Torreon or else we'll know how much of a poser you REALLY are.
May 11, 2000
Yesterday was my (mike yuk) birthday. I turned 21. I am now officially an old bastard and I am retiring from punk rock as of now. If you believe that then you can like my doggy's choad. I don't have a doggy. One month until the illustrious BiLL KiLL returns from his stay in Wussconsin. The kidZ have a show on the 19th with Joe from the Mongoloids filling in again on drums. We also got a show with Good Clean Fun on June 28th, check out the shows page for more info. Anyway. I'm really bored with this so i'm outtie. Pink vinyl is cool !
March 31, 2000
Last Friday the Kidz played at the Flanders punk house in Lawrence. Although last minute, the show went well. The kidz played with the Mogoloids and Pray for Mojo.. and argueably Death Butt. The Kidz played a new song called "jumping box" that got everyone moving. They also played "the list" by Filth, only they played it backwards. Andiy couldn't come. And they missed her. But this weekend on April 1st the Kidz are playing the PETA benefit with Lost Pride, the Mogoloids, the Controlled, Basement Disasters, and of course the infamous JBK. The show starts at 6 pm. Bring a Date. Joe Mongoloid will be playing drums as BiLL KiLL is still in Wussconsin. Yuk reccomends the new Spazz cd "crush kill destroy." More fukerz need to post on the board or we will just get rid of it. Save www space. Peace.
the kidz.
March 6, 2000
Hi friends, the pirate show went very well, even tho it was almost a month ago now. We'll be posting a few pictures very soon. Next up for the Kidz, the PETA benefit on April 1st. BiLL KiLL will not be here for that one, but we're getting Joe from the Mogoloids to fill in. Thank you Joe! In other news, the ASS Ministers have not practiced for a while, but are still a band (never fear). Also, Hife and Yuk along with Jerm and Rat (fuk commas) have started a neat band. Hife sings, Yuk plays drums, Rat = guitar and Jerm = 5 string bass. Right now they are at odds for a name. Originally called Lotus, Yuk and Rat decided that name sucked, so they renamed it Lamborghini (fuk spelling). Lamborghini's first scheduled show is opening for A//political on June 1st, but you'll probably see them play before then. Their style is comparable to the ASS Ministers and Death Butt, and also Haiku. If you are unfamiliar with these bands, then that doesn't help. Nevertheless, we encourage you to support Lamborghini/Lotus/whatever. Thank you and party on.
Peace,
the long shoreman
January 29, 2000
Ahoy! The pirate punk show is ON. Also playing that show are: Lost Pride, Element and the Basement Disasters. For directions, please see the SHOWS PAGE . Also.. GOOD NEWS! BiLL KiLL is returning from Wisconsin on a semester break and it just so happens that his break coincides with this show, so he will be joining the KiDS and it will be as it should be. Right now it looks like Andiy is going to be doing some Voxing with us. And who better could we get? No one! Andiy rules! Anyway, we hope to see youz kids at our show, and remember to go to shows. I went to see Lost Pride again tonight. And AGAIN they ruled, besides the fact that the guy interviewing them made fun of me. =( I got over it and had fun. Anyway. F.O.A.D.
Peace,
the shorg bust kiss
January 18, 2000
Hi friends. Well, a few things have happened in SBK-related news.. kinda. Yuk went to see Lost Pride and Figure 70 on Saturday night and was duely impressed. Lost Pride ROCKED! Definetly a band worth checking out if you get the chance. In other SBK news, the Kidz have been asked to play at the Pirate Punk House at 14th and Kentucky, in Lawrence on February 12th. The problem with this show is that our drummer, BiLL KiLL is hundreds of miles away in wisconsin. Mike and Hife agreed to play and haven't figured out exactly what to do.. Maybe lip-sync? What will most likely happen is the kids will find a suitable fill in drummer to play the show, or they will go make asses out of themselves with a drum machine. Either way.. it'll be worth seeing.. The Kidz have also been asked to play a P.E.T.A. benefit in March. They agreed to that too, but once again, we'll see how it pans out. In other news, there is a Leonard Peltier protest on February 6th in Lawrence. It's taking place at "south park" which is on Massachusetts Ave and 15th Street (roughly). For more info see the Voice the Revolution Webpage.
This is a worthwhile cause and something you should check out. We'll keep you posted on the O.D.T. situation, no definite drummers as of yet, but check out the Official O.D.T. Webpage for more info when it becomes available. Sorry this sounded like a letter to a fukin editor. But i've been doing my homework like a good dork. Ok. As always, email us or sign the guestbook if you have any questions or you want us to look dumb. Thanx.
PEACE
Yuk.
January 5, 2000 Y2K is here
Welp, we played a show on Y2K eve, it was kind of a last minute deal and we didn't even have a set list.. We took requests and didn't play very long, but it was fun to play for our friends at a little party. We got invited to play with Kosher and some other bands and we really wanted to, but due to yuk's crappy work schedule (working til 10 on y2k) and everyone being sick we had to respectfully decline, sorry. So we just went and sukt somewhere else. Bill has returned to skool so the chances of more sbk shows are ... i dunno. If we can find a temporary drummer then we can prolly play a few shows, we'd like to anyway. Keep yr eye on the O.D.T. web page, as that band is most likely getting back together, with Treovr still on vox, Yuk on guitar (not drums), Tom on bass (since meredith moved to boston and is going to skool in nyc, she will never live here again. =( bye bye) and a drummer is still in the worx.. But look for a more hardcore sound out of them. Anyway, any drummers who would like to play can email the short bus kids at our anti-social.com email address. Thanx to all the people who came out to see us. And yuk wants to tell the damn VR kids to quit having their meetings while he is working. Cuz he wants to come and visit, and he has presents for them. And he likes camels (not cigarrettes) and horsies. That is all for now.
Peace,
shorter than jesus, the bus kids.
December 25, 1999, Merry Crassmas
Kwanza not Xmas! Hey kids (and thats NOT condescending, we're happy we're kids)! We had fun at our show the other night at gee. It was great to meet the VR kids and tell bad jokes on stage. We appricitate the extensive audience interaction. It's just as much yr show as it is anyone elses. So fukin heckle away and have fun!!! Anyway, we will try to play another show before Bill Kill returns to wisconsin, the P.E.T.A. benefit in January is still up in the air. So if you see it blowing by, try to catch it. Peace,
mike

It seems we have offended a few people with some of the things we say and do. To anyone offended, i request that you click on the "learn" icon on the main page so you can read what we have to say before you decide what you think of us. Please also note the last entry in the "learn" section, "what to do if you don't like the short bus kids." To anyone who hasn't figured this out: we have a sense of humor. So don't take EVERYTHING you read seriously. Ha.. now that i said that i just KNOW some a$$hole will sign our guestbook saying "you guys are cool.. haha! i'm glad that's a joke." or something to that extent. So if you want to do that, please do. But remember that i did it first, you poser. Remember we only burn because we love. Like that song! Burning Love! ok. goodnight.
peace,
Yukky poo.
December 7, 1999
Hi. We put up some more lyrix and a better history section, so now maybe you can get to know us better and decide that we're posers and dorx. But in truth it is all of you who are posers and dorx. And if you take all the shit we say seriously.. then good for you! Cuz as you can tell, we're ALWAYS serious here at SBK! Everyone should come out to our show on Thursday, December 23, 1999 at Gee coffee. We're having a brunch and a bible study group before we play, and for an encore, we're doing Kum By Yah. Only we're rapping it! So come see Busta Nut and the Short Bus Jerks fuk yr shit up. peace. yuk.
November 28, 1999
YO! We had our first practice with MeredithLilly on lead vox and we jammed on some Naked Aggression and Blondie songs. So you can prolly expect to hear a few covers at our show at GEE on December 23rd with the Abilities, Kosher and the Bea Arthurs. It'll be awhile before we have loads of new songs for Lilly to sing for. And she won't be around this spring because she is going to skool in NYC. So, we'll most likely be a 3 piece again until the summer. We do plan to make a recording of us with MereLil on vox over the winter break. Our "old" tapes will be available at our shows. So will SBK patches and vinyl stickers coming soon. That's about all there is to report. The Kids reformed as Blue Jesus for a show last Saturday night. It was a show at Yuk's house attended by friends. Yeah. sorry. Anyway, we hope to see you soon!
Piece de le Resistance,
Yuk.
November 15, 1999
Hey, i'd just like to wish our friend CassandraKat a happy 18th birthday. A new winter season is upon us, and the kids will definetly be playing some shows over winter break. Yuk is returning to kc from his brief 4 month stint as a tennessean. His attitude towards the South is much more distinguished now, as it is: "nuke the South." Sorry to any kewl southern people, maybe you should kill all the rednecks then we won't have this problem. Until then, prepare to be nuked. We all know that on new years eve, the nuclear missiles will fly. And the ones from other countries aren't the ones to fear. It's our own. In tests, not a single U.S. missile was able to hit a target. Most just went straight up and came straight back down. So, if you live near a missile sight, you might wanna move before new years. Just some advice from the Kids. Oh yeah. The kids have expanded. We now have MeredithLilly on lead vox, cuz yuk wanted to take a back seat for now. So, if you come see us this winter, expect to see some boy/girl duel vox going on. We'll put her picture up on the page soon enough. Also, Rat Bastardson, formerely of the much missed mADD sCiENTiSTs might be picking up a 2nd guitar for the Kids. We'll see when it happens. aight friends. as always, be safe. don't drive drunk and be good to our earth.
peace,
Faggy Yuk.
