The short bus kidz are three ( sometimes 4, 5 or more..) distinct individuals who have been playing music together for almost 7 years now. We didn't set out to be a punk band, or even understand the concept and implications of D.I.Y. But through expirience, we learned, (slowly but surely) that we were going to have to do it for ourselves, because we were the only ones we could truely rely on. Having played quite a few shows now, the Kidz have met some like-minded individuals. Basically, the Kidz are like almost every other K.C. youth band in the sense that we book our own shows, pay for our own instruments, pay for our own recording, dub our own tapes, make our own "artwork" and flyers, and make our own patches. To someone who has been in a band, this doesn't seem too impressive, it seems standard. But what a lot of people don't realize is that this is a lot of fuking work, and we give "props" (cool mtv slang) to all the other bands out there doing the same. We definetly don't support capitalism, as we've never made a profit off of anything we've sold. Our original demos cost us $7 a piece to make, (cuz we were dumb then, and had an outside tape dubbing company "help" us ), we then turned around and sold the tapes for $5, and lost a lot of money. But money has never mattered to us. It's always been about playing live and meeting people, and supporting good causes. Anyway, we never set out to profit from another, and we don't support those that do. Cash fiends fuk off!!!!!
